requires lots of patience & determination! 🤓 throughout uni, i had to learn many new tools like MATLAB, Altium, Quartus Prime, LTSpice, Modelsim, Virtuoso, Sentaurus, Verilator quickly within a few weeks. im at a point where i wont be afraid to learn something new because im more confident in going through the process again and again 😇 sometimes i would get questions like “do you ever apply what you learned in uni to work?” in this case, yes! at work, i’m applying this skill to learn the tools used for Integrated Circuit Design in different parts of the design flow! sometimes, the software used in uni is the same/similar as the one used in the industry 🤩 most of these also require theoretical knowledge about the field so you will have an idea of what to do / try / what the process is like with the software. it probably applies to other engineering fields too 🥰

(Onshape is browser-based, highly recommend if your laptop sounds like a jet engine). 2️⃣ The Fundamentals: Search YouTube for “Water Bottle CAD Tutorial.” Learn to Sketch, Extrude, and Revolve. 3️⃣ Assemblies: Search for “Gearbox Mate Tutorial.” Learn how to make parts interact without breaking the laws of physics. 4️⃣ Surface Modeling: (For my Aero people ✈️). Learn how to use lofts and sweeps to make aerodynamic, wind-tunnel-ready shapes. Tons of tutorials and templates are available, including Shawn Hymel’s Digikey video series. LTSpice: For analog electronic circuit simulations. It has a vast library of parts, example circuits, and plenty of free tutorials online. Onshape: For 3D modeling of components and PCB enclosures. No download is required, and a free maker license is available. The Onshape Learning Center offers free tutorials. SMath Studio: A free MATHCAD alternative for quick circuit calculations. It's easy and intuitive, with lots of tutorials on their website. STM32Cube : The Arduino IDE for Arduino-based platforms and Thonny for MicroPython are great for beginners. For the next step above, I highly recommend STMCube. It has many tutorials, templates and makes peripheral configurations and code generation easy.
