PRI’m *39, a Doctor (PhD) — and not ashamed to admit that…
1️⃣ At 35, I gave birth to my first child. 💙 And just like that, a 12-year career came to a pause.
2️⃣ I worked damn hard as an Assistant Professor in an Engineering College. After 5 years of service, I was laid off. It took months to recover — it felt like the ground had shifted.
3️⃣ I tried again. Worked across multiple colleges as visiting faculty. Then a second academic position — but the work culture didn’t align. Another door closed.
4️⃣ It was tough to restart holding multiple degrees (M.Tech, MBA, and a Doctorate). But COVID and motherhood changed everything.
5️⃣ At 37 — a mother to a 2-year-old and twice laid off despite all my degrees — I decided to restart. On my own terms. Because my financial freedom felt stuck and I refused to let it stay that way.
6️⃣ I was scared. Camera-shy. I blocked friends and family before going online. And I just hoped I’d make back what I invested — because I needed this to work.
Not just for the money. For me.
💡 A message to every woman here:
👉 Maternity is NOT a career full stop.
👉 After facing so much, I decided NO ONE will have the right to control my life.
👉 I became my own boss. I work while being present for my son — every single day.
💰 Last year, I made 5 figures (USD) from my digital business.
❤️ And I’m so glad I made this decision for myself.

THMES കോളേജിലെ HoD and Assistant Professor aayit 2 വർഷം തികയുന്നു.. സ്നേഹവും, കരുതലും, ഉപദേശവും, ശാസനയും, അടിയും, ഇടിയുമായി കഴിഞ, ഒരുപാട് ഒരുപാട് അനുഭവങ്ങൾ സമ്മാനിച്ച 2 വർഷം.. ജോയിൻ ചെയ്ത സമയം ഞാൻ വിചാരിച്ചത് ഭയങ്കര strict ആയിട്ട് നിക്കണം എന്നായിരുന്നു, mainly boys ന്റെ അടുത്. ആദ്യ ദിവസങ്ങളൊക്കെ ഞാൻ അങ്ങനെ നിന്നപ്പോൾ എല്ലാർക്കും എന്നോട് ദേഷ്യവും ഇഷ്ടല്ലയ്മയും പുച്ഛവും ഒക്കെ കണ്ടു. അപ്പോൾ ഞാൻ ട്രാക്ക് മാറ്റി. അവരെ കയ്യിലെടുക്കാൻ തീരുമാനിച്ചു. സ്നേഹം കൊണ്ട് ഞാൻ അവരെ കീഴ്പ്പെടുത്തി.. ഞാൻ അവരോടു ഉള്ള approach മാറ്റിയപ്പോ അവർ തിരിച്ചും നല്ല രീതിൽ behave ചെയ്യാൻ തുടങ്ങി, ഞാൻ പറയുന്ന കാര്യങ്ങൾ ചയ്യാനും അനുസരിക്കാനും തുടങ്ങി. അടിയിലും, ഇടിയിലും ഞാൻ അവരെ ചേർത്ത് പിടിച്ചു.. അങ്ങോട് അവരോട് real ആയി നിന്നപ്പോ അവർ ഇങ്ങോട് respect ഉം സ്നേഹോക്കെ തരാൻ തുടങ്ങി, എനിക്ക് എന്നോട് തന്നെ proud തോന്നിയെ ഒരുപാട് moments ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. ഞാൻ എത്ര mentally down ആയിട്ട് ക്ലാസ്സിൽ കേറിയലും ഇവരെ തഗ് ഉം comment ഒക്കെ കേൾക്കുമ്പോ മൈൻഡ് ok ആവും. ഇന്ന് ഞാൻ ആ പടി ഇറങ്ങുബോൾ ഒരിക്കലും പ്രതീക്ഷിക്കാത്ത സ്നേഹവും കരുതലും എനിക്ക് ലഭിച്ചു. ഞാൻ പഠിപ്പിക്കാത്ത കുട്ടികൾ പോലും കരയുന്നത് ഞാൻ കണ്ടു. എയർപോർട്ടിലേക്ക് പോവുന്നെതിന് മുന്നേ എന്നെ കാണാൻ എന്റെ മക്കൾ അത്രേം ദൂരെ നിന്നും വന്നു.. ഇത്രമാത്രം ഒരു കുട്ടിക്ക് തന്റെ ടീച്ചറെ ഇഷ്ടപ്പെടാൻ സാധിക്കുമോ എന്ന് ചിന്തിപ്പിച്ചു..
ഇനി ഞാൻ ആ കോളേജിലേക്ക് തിരിച്ചു കേറുമ്പോൾ, ഇന്ന് സ്നേഹം തന്ന എന്റെ മക്കൾ അന്ന് അവിടെ ഉണ്ടാവില്ലല്ലോ എന്ന് ഓർക്കുമ്പോൾ നെഞ്ചിൽ ഒരു പിടച്ചിൽ..
