Sometimes we think of workouts as needing to target one specific goal — strength, bone health, balance, etc. But many of the basic functional strength movements can accomplish more than one thing at once. Squats, deadlifts, lunges, and step-ups all help build muscle strength and can also provide a helpful stimulus for bone health, especially when done with weight. We often associate bone health with jumping or higher-impact exercise — and that can be helpful, don’t get me wrong. But if you’re already doing these foundational strength movements, give yourself some credit. You’re supporting your bones too. Simple starting point: • 8–12 reps • 2–3 sets • 2–3x per week • Last few reps should feel challenging with good form Sometimes the best workouts are the ones that check multiple boxes at once. #physicaltherapist #strength #bonedensity #exercises #lowerbody
