Full list & how to avoid👇 Egypt is known as the scam capital of the world, because there are a lot of tourist traps, and ways to get a little bit more tip from tourists. But the country is beautiful. ✨ The only purpose of making the video is to make you aware of these on your scams/tourist traps on your trip, so you’re more confident. Don’t let these discourage you from visiting this beautiful country, please 🤗 ‼️ Trap 1: Avoid sitting in restaurants without menu or prices, no matter how friendly the staff is. If they bring some ‘snacks’ confirm if it’s complimentary or chargeable before eating as it’s usually paid. ✅ Always order in restaurants/cafes only after seeing prices. Take a picture of the dish/price you’re ordering as some restaurants even change prices. Check Google ratings to be extra careful. ‼️ Trap 2: Don’t take taxis from road, they’re a huge rip off ✅ Always use ‘InDrive’ app to book a taxi. The driver might still ask for a little extra money 100-200 EGP (INR 200-400), so confirm that before starting ride. ‼️ Trap 3: Don’t take any ‘free stuff’ or ‘free guidance’ or ask for ‘photo requests’ ✅ If something is being offered to you that you don’t want/dislike, politely refuse and walk away. ‼️ Trap 4: Small grocery stores will charge whatever price they want when they see you’re tourists ✅ Check the prices of items on ’Talabat’ app and bargain with the local grocery store guy and they will reduce rate ‼️ Trap 5: In touristy areas, avoid suspicious people saying they will get you tickets, or you need to pay extra or guide you ✅ Only buy tickets online or official ticket office Just be more careful.
