This is a tricky one. A Chrome extension meant to lay low for an hour after installation before locking up your browser, and upon restarting, show you a series of sneaky popups with the end goal of getting you to press some key commands which don’t fix the problem- they install malware. It’s CrashFix, a variant of ClickFix. Nice research by @huntresslabs !

If you use Firefox, this is your friendly reminder that browser updates are not just “new features.” Sometimes they are “please patch this before a bad site patches you.” Mozilla pushed an out of band security release to fix a high impact heap buffer overflow in the libvpx video codec used for VP8 and VP9 playback. The bug is tracked as CVE 2026 2447 and could potentially be abused through crafted web content or video to crash the browser or run attacker controlled code. What to do next. Update Firefox to 147.0.4. If you are on ESR, update to 140.7.1 or 115.32.1. If you manage endpoints, add this to your patch queue and verify version compliance across your fleet. #CyberSecurity #InfoSec #PatchManagement #VulnerabilityManagement #BrowserSecurity #SecurityUpdates #ITOps #RiskReduction #SecureBrowsing #SecurityAwareness

Browser in the Browser or BITB attacks are getting more popular. This allows the attacker to show you what looks like a legitimate popup windows that can capture email, password and even 2FA codes. If you’re recently logged into Google and you see a popup asking you to log in again, that’s a red flag. When it doubt, try to drag the window off the page!

Chrome users need to update immediately 🚨 Google just patched CVE-2026-2441—the first Chrome zero-day actively exploited in the wild this year. Windows, macOS, and Linux users are all affected. What makes this dangerous: • The vulnerability is a use-after-free bug in Chrome's CSS engine that allows attackers to execute malicious code via crafted web pages • Attackers are ALREADY exploiting this in active attacks • Chrome auto-updates, but only when the browser restarts—waiting puts systems at risk Protection steps: Navigate to chrome://settings/help and manually check for updates. Confirm the version shows 145.0.7632.75/76 or 144.0.7559.75. The concerning part? This is just the first zero-day of 2026. Last year alone, Google patched eight zero-days exploited in the wild, many targeting high-risk individuals through commercial spyware. Browsers handle banking credentials, work documents, and personal data. Leaving known vulnerabilities unpatched creates unnecessary exposure. Update now. Share this with anyone using Chrome. Takes two minutes and prevents potential compromise. Security researcher Shaheen Fazim reported the flaw. Google's Threat Analysis Group continues tracking zero-day exploitation patterns, particularly those used in targeted surveillance operations. The patch was cherry-picked across multiple commits—indicating urgency significant enough to bypass the normal release cycle. #CyberSecurity #Chrome #GoogleChrome #ZeroDay #InfoSec #TechNews #SecurityAlert #BrowserSecurity #StaySafeOnline #CyberAwareness

Chrome Security Update – Why It Matters If you use Google Chrome for work or business, this is important. Google just released a major security update fixing 11 vulnerabilities, including several high-severity flaws that could allow attackers to execute malicious code on your computer. In simple terms? If left unpatched, someone could potentially use a compromised website to run harmful code on your system. One of the most serious issues was a “use-after-free” bug in Chrome’s CSS system. That sounds technical—but what it really means is attackers could exploit it to take control of parts of your browser. Other vulnerabilities affected video processing, graphics features, and browser components that handle web content. The good news? Google has already released the fix. The update is version 145.0.7632.45/46, and most browsers update automatically. But it’s always smart to manually check by going to Settings → About Chrome to make sure you’re protected. Here’s the bigger takeaway: Most cyberattacks don’t start with dramatic hacks. They start with outdated software. That’s why at TrueSecure powered by Seimitsu, we stay on top of every major vulnerability and security update—so our clients are protected before attackers can take advantage of them. We help businesses monitor updates, patch critical systems, and reduce exposure before small issues turn into major breaches. If you’re not sure whether your systems are up to date—or if your team is manually managing updates—let’s talk. 📞 Call 912-352-3689 💻 Visit TrueSecure.us Because staying secure isn’t about reacting to attacks. It’s about preventing them before they happen. #CybersecurityAlert #ChromeSecurity #SoftwareUpdates #BusinessCyberSecurity #VulnerabilityManagement
