TrES-2b (also known as Kepler-1b or GSC 03549-02811b) is an extrasolar planet orbiting the star GSC 03549-02811, located about 750 light-years from our Solar System. Identified in 2011, TrES-2b is known as the darkest exoplanet ever discovered — reflecting less than 1% of the light that hits it. Its surface is so dark, it reflects even less light than charcoal, appearing pitch black. The planet’s mass and radius suggest it is a gas giant, similar in composition to Jupiter. However, unlike Jupiter, TrES-2b orbits very close to its star and falls into the class of "hot Jupiters." This system lies within the field of view of the Kepler spacecraft and continues to be studied by astronomers. Research from 2007 and 2008 revealed that TrES-2 may actually be part of a binary star system, significantly impacting measurements of the planet’s properties. So is Earth the best planet to sustain life out there? 🌍👀 Although we agree that Earth is special, we have to consider the possibility of exoplanets that could have even better environments for life and biodiversity to thrive, making them super-habitable As of 1 February 2023, there are 5,307 confirmed exoplanets, and  about 7000 candidates yet to be confirmed. In theory, exoplanets that are: -slightly older than Earth -slightly larger in size and mass -warmer -with more water -strong magnetic field that will protect the planet from radiation -orbiting stars with longer lifespans than our Sun -located in the center of the Goldilocks zone could be more suitable for life to survive and thrive, and have a greater biodiversity than Earth. There are 24 known potentially super-habitable exoplanets, but all are located way too far for us to analyse them in greater detail; in this video there are 4 of these with info known until now. The planet is in a circumbinary orbit around the two stars of PSR B1620-26 (which are a pulsar (PSR B1620-26 A) and a white dwarf (WD B1620-26)) and is the first circumbinary planet ever confirmed. It is also the first planet found in a globular cluster. The planet is one of the oldest known extrasolar planets, believed to be about 12.7 billion years old

This radiation can be observed only when a beam of emission is pointing toward Earth (similar to the way a lighthouse can be seen only when the light is pointed in the direction of an observer), and is responsible for the pulsed appearance of emission. Neutron stars are very dense and have short, regular rotational periods. This produces a very precise interval between pulses that ranges from milliseconds to seconds for an individual pulsar. Pulsars are one of the candidates for the source of ultra-high-energy cosmic rays (see also centrifugal mechanism of acceleration.) Pulsars’ highly regular pulses make them very useful tools for astronomers. For example, observations of a pulsar in a binary neutron star system were used to indirectly confirm the existence of gravitational radiation. The first extrasolar planets were discovered in 1992 around a pulsar, specifically PSR B1257+12.
