FREEDIVING TO 35M DEPTH!!! 🥹🩵 I can’t believe a month ago, I was being carried to soundcheck, having non-epileptic seizures 15 minutes before shows and pushing through the travel, performance and doctors/medical tests with fevers, chronic pain, fatigue and unpredictable control over my body. On land, after months of fighting my body, I was being dragged further into the dark depths of hopelessness but in the water, as I willingly dive towards a different dark depth I realise that my neurological disorder and autoimmune disease has been a blessing - for my old body to die and rebirth into a new one with more power, purpose and hope. I would’ve never have been able to do this when I was fit and healthy. It’s hard work but I am now embracing this journey not knowing the destination. 🩵 #freediving #nusapenida #fnd #chronicillness #chronicpain

Panic underwater is one of the most underestimated dangers in diving. In seconds, fear can override training. In this case, a diver spat out her regulator at 15 meters, triggering a panic response. What followed wasn’t equipment failure, it was loss of breathing control. Ascending too quickly from 15 meters (≈50 ft) is dangerous and can be fatal, the ocean doesn’t forgive rushed decisions. How to reduce the risk: • Practice regulator recovery until it’s automatic • Slow your breathing, panic feeds on rapid breaths • Stop, signal, think, act • Dive within your limits and abort early if anxiety appears • Stay close to your buddy at all times Most diving fatalities aren’t caused by depth, they’re caused by panic. Respect the ocean. Respect your limits. 🎥Credit: “Scuba Diver Panic” by ofalador (Youtube Channel) #diving #ocean #odd #dark

At the Olympic Swimming Arena 🏊‍♂️🌍, spectators gasp as athletes appear to dive into what looks like an empty concrete pool 😱. For a split second, the stadium falls into stunned silence. It’s then revealed to be a carefully staged illusion using reinforced staging panels and cinematic effects 🎬✨. The swimmers land safely as medical staff theatrically enter as part of the performance, creating a high-drama opening show moment. The shocking visual quickly trends across global sports media as one of the most talked-about Olympic spectacles 🔥🌎. #Olympics #Swimming #OlympicGames #Aquatics #SportsShow #LiveEvent #ViralSports #USA #UnitedKingdom #Germany #France #Australia #Canada #HighCPM #abdullahgürpınar

LET ME EXPLAIN ‼️👇🏽 You'd think I would have learned my lesson from the last video when I nearly blacked out at my first freediving competition. 😣 Guess again! Just before this competition I got sick again, this time with the flu. I spent 5 days trying to get better, but still showed up at the competition feeling fatigued and under the weather. I attempted a 155 metre (508 feet) swim underwater, a dive that I had done many times in training. With my body still trying to fight sickness, the dive didn't go to plan. Upon surfacing from the water I tried desperately to get fresh oxygen into my body. 😮‍💨 Unfortunately, I didn't recover fast enough and despite my coach @tashmaw yelling at me to breathe, my brain shut down and I became unconscious, sinking back into the water. 🫠 Luckily the competition safety diver came to the rescue, pulling me back to the surface and preventing me from drowning. The result was a disqualification ❌ Yet another hard lesson learned: don't freedive when you're sick, and never dive alone! 👏 #freediver #freediving #athletelife #justbreathe #breathe #holdyourbreath #blackout #unconscious #freedivingcompetition #freedivinglife #competition #dontdie #nearlydrowned #neverdivealone #AIDA #aidainternational #breathhold #sport #graphic #graphiccontent #underwater #pushthelimits #athlete

My first nappy nap of the season. This was predominantly due to narcosis and perhaps a squeeze (no blood, no coughing and sp02 was fine) I’m sharing this because people often think blackouts are scary. They’re not. They’re a part of our sport. To have my first black out of the season and deeper than 100m is totally okay. I don’t believe I pushed it. This is well within my limits, today was just not the day. Just to run you through it: - at about 3m from the surface I signalled the safety to watch. I knew something was going to happen - @freedom_freediving grabbed me as a surfaced - I got 2 recovery breaths in , started to try and laugh and then small blackout - came to pretty quickly and had a giggle - went on 02 immediately. This is an informative video. So your negative comments will be deleted. Thanks to @freedom_freediving for the amazing safety and calm vibes and to @lematevish and @minja.marinkovic for filming. #athlete #woman #freediving #motivation #army #freediver #love #extreme #gym #freedive #cyprus #blackout #safety #hypoxia #sendit #scuba #bluewater

🔥BLACK OUT IN FREEDIVING - 30 meter🫥 This is a part of sport diving just as other sports have unfavorable outcomes in cases when athletes push their limits, like BOs in long distance, crashes, heat strokes etc. In case of a BO up to 40 meters deep, a safety team is always ready to bring you back to surface, and everything is resolved quick, safe and easy. .  At  @doublek_ida_eng  we put a lot of effort in training and education for safety teams to make things easy and safe for everyone training with us. Simulations like this are done all the time so the team can be alert and ready.
. Tnx to @mjdive for the video💪

Who else has this natural phenomenon of being able to blow bubbles from their eye? . Is it a superpower? Well, just for fun, I occasionally like to pretend that it is. I mean, I think it looks cool underwater and it makes me laugh when I am playing around. It also feels kind of funny as the bubbles pass my eyelashes. . Ok now lets be a little serious here. Does it affect deep diving? . I think for some it definitely has the ability to create some challenges, especially when every bit of air is so precious when descending into the depths on one breath. . If too much pressure is applied air will leak out of the tear duct during equalization. . For deep diving I always assumed I had a slight disadvantage, thinking I was not able to retain as much air as other divers, providing me with less air to equalize with the deeper I went. . Although it can be a challenge, there are solutions. Some things that I have found that helped me for depth diving: . 🔅 I have found that applying the right pressure prevents air from leaking out in the depths. That means not forcing equalization and applying just enough pressure to open the eustachian tubes to equalize the middle ear. . 🔅 Wearing goggles (i.e. fluid goggles) applies some kind of pressure to the eye to help minimize air leakage. . 🔅 The deeper I am, the surrounding pressure from the water makes leaking less likely. . 🔅 Keeping the eyes closed during equalization can also help to keep pressure and not let air escape from the tear duct. . It isn’t always prefect and the leaking can vary or change on the day. However, so far these things have seemed to work for me on my depth diving journey. . #bubbles #bubblemaster #superpower #leakytearducts #freediving #training #athlete #deeppool #y40 #equalize #deepdiving #deepjoy
