This roadmap is based on my personal experience of working in the industry for 6 years now. 🙌
But take it with a grain of salt, if you think feel like you must take a different route, please do so. This is just my advice. 💡
Some I like to further explain are:
1 and 2: Make sure you take your time learning the fundamentals. Today's aspiring game developers dive immediately in the engines but it's extremely valuable to start with the basics of programming and thereby creating games from scratch too. Think of games such as "Guess the number", "Tic-Tac-Toe" and "Asteroids".
4 and 5: OOP and Math are essentials for game development. So practice with these both, create experimental projects to visualize mathematical concepts and physics. And in the meanwhile try practicing OOP principle. 🙌
(Common math for game dev is linear algebra)
6: Version control, a.k.a GitHub is very scary at first. But that's why it's important to use this in your study as soon as possible as it will help you gaining confidence once you'll use it in professional environment.
7, 9 and 10: Make sure you try out a game engine once you are comfortable with programming. This takes some time but is worth the effort in long term. When moving to engines focus on design patterns and try experimenting with existing project. You can simply find projects by searching online for git repositories. 🙌
11: To attend game jams, just check out Itch.io for the whole agenda filled with game jams you can attend for free. 😇
14, 15: It might takes a while until you land your first job. Often aspiring devs take ~3-6 years of study (also self study) until they land a junior job (Of course there are exceptions).
So, it's important to keep having fun and keep following and creating the things you are interested in.

ITHey, I'm Anu, I'm learning AI before I get left behind. And here's the roadmap I'm following and you can get a 20-30LPA job as a fresher AI engineer.
Month 1: Python, Basic Syntax+ OOPs. Tools like Google Colab, VS code.
Month 2: Maths for AI ( linear algebra, probability) + learn numpy, matplotlib, pandas
Month 3: ML Basics - Regression, Supervised and unsupervised learning. Scikit learn.
Month 4: Deep Learning + Neural Networks. Use Tensorflow or PyTorch. You can learn from deeplearning.ai site.
Month 5: Build projects - Few examples like house price prediction, sentiment analysis, chatbot with RNN or AI that plays a game.
Month 6: Portfolio + Apply + Learn advanced topics. GitHub projects, Linkedin optimised for AI roles, personal portfolio website. Learn about LangChain+ LLMs, huggingface, and streamlit/gradio for UI.
