FEWie lebt es sich, wenn man blind geboren wurde? Zu diesem Thema hatten wir in den siebten Klassen Herrn Fechner, den Onkel einer Schülerin, im Unterricht zu Besuch.
Sehr eindrücklich schilderte er, wie er als Kind zunächst einen „normalen“ Kindergarten besuchte, später die Brailleschrift erlernte und dann später auf ein Gymnasium für Blinde wechselte, wo er schließlich auch das Abitur machte und als Blinder sogar studieren konnte.
Die Blindenschrift, sein Blindenstock und sein ausgeprägter Gehörsinn begleiten ihn nun schon sein Leben lang. Mittlerweile profitiert er auch von den Errungenschaften der modernen Technik. So demonstrierte er vor den Augen der Schüler, wie er mit Hilfe einer KI- Brille (Envision Glasses) zum Beispiel Bücher lesen und seine Umgebung erschließen kann.
Beeindruckend waren auch seine anderen Hilfsmittel: die Perkins Brailler (Punktschriftmaschine), mit der er nette Botschaften an die Schüler in Brailleschrift verfasste, die Stenomaschine und die Humanware Brailliant BI 40x (=Braillezeile).
Es ist faszinierend, wie Herr Fechner seinen Alltag mutig bewältigt und sich nicht durch seine Behinderung unterkriegen lässt: So kann er zum Beispiel kochen, die Mikrowelle bedienen, mit den öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln fahren, einkaufen, arbeiten usw.. Er ist mutmachendes Vorbild dafür, sein Leben auch unter schwierigen Bedingungen anzupacken.

SHThe notion that plants are capable of feeling emotions was first recorded in 1848, when Gustav Fechner, an experimental psychologist, suggested that plants are capable of emotions and that one could promote healthy growth with talk, attention, attitude, and affection.
Jagadish Chandra Bose too began to conduct experiments on plants in the year 1900 and found that plants respond to positive and negative energy.
Humans too (just like plants) get mental and emotional triggers on listening certain kind of words.
This is the reason a beautiful poem by a famous poet, a motivational speech by a leader or words of appreciation from your family / partner shifts our outlook altogether.
We often use our words mindlessly, not realising that they shape our life.
Our present & future both depends on the kind of words we use with ourselves (self-talk) & with others.
If you constantly choose positive, motivating and encouraging words, you will feel better internally & it will improve the quality of your relationships as well. Don't believe me, try it.
So, next time you want to communicate, choose your words wisely as they have a LOT OF POWER.
