Natural nails don’t need air. Once the nail plate grows out of the matrix, it’s made of dead keratin cells - there’s no oxygen exchange happening on the surface.
What actually affects nail health:
• Proper prep and adhesion
• Preventing moisture from getting trapped under enhancements
• Catching lifting early
• Understanding where infections really start
Most nail infections don’t start on top of the nail. They develop underneath - usually from moisture, lifting, or improper removal.
This is why technique, structure, and removal matter more than “letting nails breathe.”
