If you’re curious how long it took to do my PPL training, here’s my timeline! I’m enrolled in a Part 141 course (which is part of my visa requirements). November 21st, 2023: First flight. February 22nd: Phase Check 1, ground April 17th: Phase Check 1, flight April 30th: Phase Check 2, ground and flight May 7th: First solo flight. July 1st: Phase Check 3, ground July 11th: Phase Check 3, flight August 12th: Final Phase Check, ground August 30th: Final Phase Check, flight September 19th: Checkride passed! 🎉 Transparency is important and I hope this has helped anyone that’s curious! Every journey is different and everyone will face challenges. Don’t lose sight of your goals🩷 There were some factors that ultimately ended up extending my timeline more than I anticipated. The main reasons for the delays: ⮕FAA audit of the 141 program, which grounded me while issues were fixed. ⮕Grounding due to discourse on paying installments caused by delays in my training as mentioned above ⮕Changing instructors. ⮕Long wait times for phase checks to be scheduled #aviation #flighttraining #studentpilot #femalepilot

Here's how to get started working on your private pilot license for less than $100. Most student pilots either finish their written exam last minute or never finish it at all. If you study 3 to 4 hours a day using this free online Ground School, you will set yourself apart from everybody else who doesn't. You can finish your ground school in 1-2 months & ACE YOUR WRITTEN. It's not complicated, it's not expensive, and ANYONE CAN DO IT. You just have to put in the time and effort. For those that are truly willing to put in the work, DM me '✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️' and I'll send you the free YouTube ground school link, plus the $60 prep that I used that you can split with a friend. My goal with this channel to provide high quality instruction and resources for free to student pilots who can't afford it. Follow for me, and DM me with any specific aviation questions you have. I'd love to help. ❤️ . . . . . #studentpilot #flightschool #flighttraining #pilot #cfi #pilotlife #atpl #cockpit #dedication #focus #aviationlovers #aviation #lifestyle #fyp #flightinstructor #ambition #cessna #privatepilot #piper #mooney #generalaviation #airlinepilot #boeing #airbus #dreamer #winningstreak #55555 #airlines #dreamcareer #flightinstruction

“Thinking about getting into aviation? Here are a few things to know: It’s not just about flying—it’s about discipline, constant learning, and staying sharp. Training takes time, money, and commitment, but the rewards? Freedom, adventure, and a whole new way to see the world. 1. Commitment is Everything •Flight training takes time, consistency, and mental focus. •You’ll face early mornings, tough lessons, and repeat practice. •If you’re not 100% in, progress will be slow—and costly. 2. Medical Fitness is Non-Negotiable •Before anything, make sure you’re medically fit to fly. •Basic issues like poor vision, certain medications, or heart conditions can affect eligibility. •Start with a basic aviation medical exam so you don’t waste time or money. 3. It’s a Financial Investment •Flight training isn’t cheap—expect to invest a lot for private pilot training alone. •Budget for extras like books, tests, headsets, and possible retakes. •Plan ahead so you don’t run out of funds mid-training. 4. Choose Your Flying School Wisely •Not all schools are equal. Some offer fast-track training, others are more flexible. •Look for qualified instructors, good aircraft maintenance, and transparent pricing. •Visit the school, ask questions, and even try a demo flight before committing. This is a great example of a first student solo. For their first solo flight, a student pilot should be familiar with: • Aircraft control (takeoff, landing, basic maneuvers) • Navigation (visual references, basic instruments) • Communication (radio procedures, ATC interaction) • Emergency procedures (engine failure, system malfunctions) • Preflight inspection (aircraft airworthiness) • Weather assessment (basic meteorology, go/no-go decisions) • Flight regulations (airspace rules, right-of-way) #firstsoloflight #studentpilot #privatepilot

Flight training doesn’t have “prerequisite classes” — despite what some schools might try to sell you ✈️ Here’s the reality: • You can start training at 16 • You need to be 17 for a Private Pilot License • You must be able to read, speak, and understand English • Meet basic medical + legal requirements That’s it. No college courses. No required ground school packages before you even step in a plane. If you’re being told you have to take certain classes first… that’s not FAA — that’s marketing.

A discovery flight is an introductory flight experience designed for people who are interested in learning how to fly but haven’t started formal training yet. It’s usually your first hands-on experience in a small aircraft with a certified flight instructor (CFI). Here’s what typically happens on a discovery flight: • Pre-flight briefing: The instructor explains the basics of the flight, the aircraft controls, and what to expect. • Aircraft tour: You may help with the pre-flight inspection to get familiar with the airplane. • Flight time: You’ll sit in the pilot’s seat and actually get to fly the plane under the instructor’s supervision. You’ll usually handle basic maneuvers like straight-and-level flight, gentle turns, and maybe even some climbs and descents. • Post-flight: The instructor answers questions and talks about the next steps if you want to continue with flight training. It’s not a full lesson, but it gives you a real taste of what flying and flight training are like. Most flight schools (like Avier) offer these, and they’re a fun and low-commitment way to see if aviation is right for you.

Learning to land is the biggest challenge in flight training. Here are some common mistakes: 🔺Looking at the wrong place As you transition into ground effect, your eyes should be looking toward the end of the runway centerline, not at the nose and right in front of the plane. This will also help with depth perception & knowing when to flare. 🔺Flaring too soon or too late As you lose more energy, you’ll see the ground rising in your periphery. That’s your cue to gradually flare, tugging or fishing for the runway. Too soon, and you’ll balloon up. Too late, you’ll land nose wheel first and start to porpoise, which can lead down a dangerous path. 🔺Unstabilized approach Too high, too low, too fast, too slow?? This the analysis you should constantly have in your head on your approach. A good landing starts with a good approach: correct airspeed, correct glidepath, and lined up on centerline. 👉 Many students are so nervous about getting too slow in the pattern, they overcompensate and fly too fast of an approach and landing. If your descent rate is too high or airspeed is too fast at touchdown, this can cause major problems on landing & controlling the plane. 👉 Give yourself some grace! Landing is hard, and you’ll have some bad ones the rest of your flying career. Do your best to stay vigilant, situationally aware, stick to procedures, and always go around if you’re unstable.
