Prep first. Primer, sealing every crack and gap, another coat of primer, and time to let it dry. Then getting everything ready — bags, water, mixer, bucket — and pouring. This job is definitely easier with two people. This time I was on my own… missing my partner because doing it solo is slower and a lot harder. 😅 Project from @deluxeflooring_ #construction #preporation #flooringupgrade #flooringinstaller #howto

Most people only care about the final floor. We care about what’s underneath it as well. Proper prep is the difference between a floor that lasts… and one that fails. #flooring #floorprep #contractorlife #homeimprovement #renovation

Why is it important to Floor Prep? ⬇️⬇️⬇️ 1. Prevents Planks from Separating If the floor underneath has high spots or dips, the planks can flex when you walk on them. Over time this can cause: • Joints to unlock • Gaps between planks • Clicking or movement 2. Avoids Floor Damage Uneven subfloors create pressure points that can lead to: • Broken locking systems • Cracked planks • Faster wear Grinding removes high spots, while leveling compound fills low areas so the floor is flat. 3. Stops Noise and Bouncing If the subfloor is uneven you may hear: • Popping • Clicking • Hollow sounds A flat surface keeps the planks fully supported and quiet. 4. Improves Installation Quality Most manufacturers require subfloors to be within about: • 3/16 inch variation within 10 feet If the floor isn’t within that tolerance, installers must grind or level it to meet warranty requirements. 5. Helps the Floor Last Longer Proper floor prep: • Prevents movement • Protects locking systems • Keeps the floor looking good for years A well-prepared subfloor is the foundation of the entire installation. #remodel #fyp #renovation #flooring #flooringinstallation
