We mill organic grains sourced directly from Canadian family farms and mill them using two mills - one from @newamericanstonemills and our other, original mill imported from Ostiroller in Austria. Homemade Butter Flour Tortillas Recipe Ingredients (1 dozen tortillas) 2 cups all-purpose flour 1 tsp salt 1 tsp baking powder (optional, but makes them softer) 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted (or very soft) ¾ cup warm water (add gradually) Instructions 1. Mix dry ingredients In a bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and baking powder. 2. Add butter Pour in the melted butter and mix until it looks crumbly. 3. Add water Slowly add warm water while mixing until a soft dough forms. 4. Knead Turn onto a lightly floured surface and knead 2–3 minutes, just until smooth (don’t overdo it). 5. Rest the dough (important!) Divide into golf-ball-size pieces, roll into balls, cover, and rest 20–30 minutes. This relaxes the gluten so they roll out easily. 6. Roll out Roll each ball into a thin circle (about 8 inches). 7. Cook Heat a dry comal, skillet or cast-iron pan over medium-high. Cook each tortilla 30–45 seconds per side until bubbles form and light brown spots appear. 8. Finish Stack them in a towel to keep warm and soft Pro Tips • Extra buttery finish: Brush lightly with melted butter while hot. • Softer tortillas: Swap ¼ cup water for warm milk. • Fluffier tortillas: Don’t skip the resting step. • Freezer-friendly: Cool completely, then freeze with parchment between them. #homemade #flour #tortillas #mexicanfood #mexico
