@rabbibuchdahl is one of the top Rabbis in the country. She was the first East Asian-American to be ordained as a rabbi and the first Asian-American to be ordained as a hazzan (cantor) anywhere in the world.
She has led prayers at the White House with Obama and her singing voice is just as powerful as her brilliant thought provoking sermons.
During my time teaching music at @centralsynagogue in my 20’s, Rabbi Angela Buchdahl mentored me and supported the making of my first Jewish album, Challah Challah & I’m so proud to call her a friend!

BO💡🚫📚 Did you know? Over 10,000 books were banned in public schools across the U.S. during the 2023-2024 school year. As @penamerica reports, many of these titles address issues of race, gender, and identity. Many of these books are removed from school libraries, cutting off access to young readers who need them most. It’s important to note the difference between a “challenged” book, which is contested but may remain on shelves, and a “banned” book, which is removed altogether, and only available for purchase.
This alarming rise in censorship threatens our freedom to explore diverse perspectives and engage in critical conversations. These efforts to silence stories and ideas undermine our freedom to learn and think critically.
At Books & Books, we stand firm in our belief that access to books is a fundamental right. Banning books is more than silencing words on a page — it’s an attempt to erase voices, ideas, and experiences that shape our understanding of the world.
