THI remember the exact moment everything clicked.
I was at the store, cart full of the “usual” – those colorful pouches, crackers in individual packages, frozen nuggets promising my kids would actually eat dinner.

ANHomemade pretzel bites are officially a thing in my kitchen 🥨✨
Soft, golden, and perfect for dunking in mustard, cheese, or just eating straight up!
I finally nailed the recipe after a few tries, and they’re way easier than they look.

Homemade Pretzel Bites 🥨
Ingredients
• 1½ cups warm water
• 2 tsp honey
• 2 tsp kosher salt
• 2¼ tsp active dry yeast
• 4½ cups all-purpose flour
• 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
• ⅔ cup baking soda (and yes, ⅔ cups baking soda 😉)
• 1 egg yolk + 1 tbsp water (egg wash)
• Kosher salt, optional
Directions
1. In a large bowl, mix warm water, honey, and yeast. Let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.
2. Add flour and melted butter. Knead 5–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
3. Cover and let rise for 1 hour.
4. Preheat oven to 450°F. Line two baking sheets.
5. Bring 10 cups water + baking soda to a boil.
6. Divide dough into 6–8 pieces. Roll into ropes (about 1 inch thick) and cut into 1-inch bites.
7. Boil bites in batches for 20–30 seconds. Remove with slotted spoon and place on baking sheets.
8. Brush with egg wash and sprinkle with kosher salt (if using).
9. Bake 10–12 minutes until golden brown.
Cinnamon Sugar Pretzel Bites
• Skip the salt before baking
• After baking, brush warm pretzels with 3–4 tbsp melted butter
• Toss in a mix of ½ cup sugar + 1½ tsp cinnamon
• Serve warm ✨

CAOne thing that really surprised me this year was that everything I learnt to make from scratch used four ingredients or less. It was a quiet reminder that good food doesn’t have to be complicated, and that a lot of what we buy at the supermarket has been made far more complex than it needs to be.
Recipes for these are all on my page 🫶🏻 Cooking from scratch was one of my favourite hobbies in 2025, and I can’t wait to see what I learn to make next in 2026 (tomorrow!?!). It doesn’t mean I always make these things from scratch, but I love knowing that I can, and knowing how 🥰

LOThis one was a huge restock! I’ve been trying to use up bits from my freezer as much as possible to empty it out. Shout out to @sarahberney for the banana cookie recipe.
Tortila wraps recipe
240g plain flor + extra for dusting
1 tsp fine sea salt
1/4 tsp baking powder
60g soft butter
160ml warm water
Combine dry ingredients.
Mix in soft butter roughy, then add the water and knead till it comes together.
Tip it onto the surface, using extra flour for dusting knead for 3-5 mins till smooth.
Split into 6 balls equal size and rest for 30 mins.
Roll out to a rough circle then dry fry in a hot skillet for 30- 40 seconds on each side.
Place in a tea towel while the rest cook.
