Your argument is a drop in the bucket that will be gone in hours… But you’ve then gotten yourself all wound up and dysregulated. This does not serve YOU or your family. Just pass it by. I get it. I’ve typed out many a comment and then deleted it 🤣 I learned the hard way that social media makes us think our voices are important…and they may be if we’re putting out content. But rarely does an argument online end satisfactorily. And even if it does, it’s. This is a tricky trap because yes! We want to believe the best of our children. And of course, there are times when we need to defend them. But lately it seems like there’s never any accountability. Sometimes it IS our kid. But if we can’t see that sometimes it is indeed our kid, then they’ll never learn accountability. For instance, no one thinks their kid is mean or a bully and yet plenty of those kids exist. If we get too caught up in NOT MY KID or my kid would never… I’m here to tell you. If you consistently say no and then give in…your child is simply learning that you don’t mean what you say. They learn that escalating behavior will get them what they want in any given moment. We unconsciously teach them this by routinely letting the boundary move according to their behavior. ��Now…I get it. There are many times when we as parents can’t handle a situation and are just like: fine! Have the thing. But the trick is: decide early if that’s the situation and GIVE THEM THE THING the first time. No harm, no foul. ��They asked. You gave. Easy. ��What becomes hard is when you consistently don’t mean what you say. We become very insular once we get pregnant but this is when you need the village the most. Two: reject the kid-centric life. I would strap that kid to my back and go live my best life. That kid would feel the love of being in the middle of a good life and a happy mom. I would buck every system out there that has built to crush us.
