This object is known as a Penrose triangle, one of the most famous examples of an impossible object in geometry and visual perception. First described by mathematician Roger Penrose, the figure appears to form a continuous triangular structure. Each corner seems perfectly connected, creating the illusion of a solid three-dimensional object. However, when analyzed in physical space, the geometry becomes contradictory. The orientation of the beams cannot exist simultaneously in real three-dimensional Euclidean space. The illusion works because the brain interprets the image using visual cues that normally help reconstruct depth and perspective. Locally, each segment appears consistent, but when the structure is considered as a whole, the geometry becomes impossible. In other words, the Penrose triangle can exist as a two-dimensional projection that deceives our perception, but it cannot be built as a true three-dimensional object in the physical world. It is a striking example of how human perception can interpret visual information in ways that physical reality does not allow. It’s called an oloid. Paul Schatz discovered it in 1929 while studying how to turn a cube inside out. Two circles, perpendicular, linked like a chain. The center of each circle sits exactly on the edge of the other. When you roll it, something unexpected happens. Every single point on its surface makes contact with the ground during a full rotation. No other shape does this. Not a sphere. Not a cylinder. Just this skeletal beauty. The motion isn’t clean. It wobbles. It sways. The center of mass rises and falls. Yet it rolls in a perfectly straight line. The oloid’s rolling creates laminar flow without vortices. That means gentle, thorough mixing without damaging what’s inside. Wastewater treatment plants use it. Pharmaceutical manufacturers use it. Anywhere you need to blend something without destroying it, the oloid is working quietly in the background. Have you noticed that geometric shapes aren’t just drawings… but the foundation of everything? Everything around you — buildings, objects, even nature — follows geometric patterns. Lines, angles and proportions define balance and strength. Nothing is random — there’s logic behind every shape. From simple to complex, everything starts with a basic structure. More than figures, they are codes of reality. Ancient Egyptians invented geometry thousands of years ago to solve real-life problems 🌍📐 Every year, the Nile River flooded and erased land boundaries. To re-measure farms, rebuild fields, and construct massive structures like the pyramids, Egyptians developed mathematical rules for shapes, angles, and distances. From measuring land to building wonders that still stand today, geometry was born from necessity — and changed the world forever. #AncientEgypt #Geometry #HistoryFacts #NileRiver #Pyramids

Is everything you know about circles a lie?L In standard geometry, we define a circle by the equation x^2 + y*2 =r^2. But what happens when we play with the exponents? This is the world of the p-norm and Lamé curves. As the exponent n increases towards infinity, our "circle" puffs out into a perfect square. As n drops below 1, it collapses into a sharp. four-pointed star (an astroid). When we hit negative numbers, the graph literally escapes to infinity, leaving us with these haunting, disconnected curves. Why does this happen? It's all about how we measure distance. By changing the power, we change the "metric" of the space. This isn't just math art-it's used in engineering, mobile app icon design (squircle, anyone?), and data science! In this video: n= 30: The"Sguircle" n=2: The Euclidean Circle n= 1: The Diamond (Taxicab Geometry) n=0.3:The Astroid Star t n=-2: The Hyperbolic split f Which version of the "circle" is your favorite?Let's argue in the comments! Geometry is explored through sand by using it for sand art, creating geometric figures and patterns, or building mathematical models. Cultural practices like Angola’s Sona use sand for storytelling and teaching geometry through sand drawings. Physical principles can be demonstrated, such as using a taut rope and sticks to draw ellipses and circles in the sand, as shown in this Natural Math article. Sand can also be used as a medium to visualize scientific concepts, such as using sand on a Chladni plate to show patterns created by sound vibrations. #information #knowledge #history #discover #geometry
