In "Ghosted," a down-to-earth farmer named Cole falls head-over-heels for the mysterious Sadie after one incredible date, but when she stops responding to his texts, he makes the impulsive (and slightly stalkerish) decision to fly to London to surprise her. The "Self-Resemblance" Bias
Research shows that we are subconsciously drawn to people who physically resemble us. In a famous study, participants were shown photos of various people and asked to rate their attractiveness. Unknown to them, the researchers had digitally morphed the participants' own faces into the opposite gender and mixed them into the pile.
The Result: Participants consistently rated the "opposite-gender version of themselves" as the most attractive person in the group, without even realizing they were looking at their own features.
