Steps to follow
1. Go to GitHub: Log in to your GitHub account and click on your profile picture to open the menu.
2. Open Settings: Scroll down and click on Settings.
3. Find Education Benefits: On the left sidebar, go to Billing and licensing, then click on Education benefits.
4. Apply for the Pack: Click the Start an application button for the GitHub Student Developer Pack. (If you aren’t a student, you can use the details of a family member who is, as mentioned in the video).
5. Get Approved: Once your application is approved (usually within a few minutes), you’ll unlock the student benefits, including GitHub Copilot.
6. Access Premium Models: Open Visual Studio Code and use the Copilot chat/CLI. Click the model dropdown menu, and you’ll now have free access to premium models like Claude Opus 4.6, GPT-5.2-Codex, and more!
