So here’s my real life update at Day 35. My sleep was a little weird in the beginning but eventually leveled out. My appetite is finally calm instead of constantly demanding. And digestion has definitely slowed down compared to before starting. None of it has been perfect, but the overall trend keeps moving in the right direction — less inflammation, less chronic pain, more energy, and a body that feels more regulated. But all I see are a bunch of skinny people who look like melted candles and hear the same from people who are on them with the wrong approach. Muscle is what gives shape. If you don’t have a lot to begin with you will just end up being a smaller version of yourself. What I call skinny fat or melted candle look. Time and time again, I’ve seen many women who go the GLP1 route which I fully support, but end up with less than favorable outcomes like the melted candle look. If you’re going to take a glp 1 drug, make sure you’re strength training AT LEAST 2 times per week, training with a high proximity to failure (stop leaving valuable reps on the table) and get in enough protein (at least .7 grams per pound of ideal bodyweight) so that you can at least keep muscle on while you lose fat on the drug. And here’s the truth: You will most likely not be guided or held accountable to these things by your prescribers so it makes sense to work with a good coach if you want the best possible outcome.
