Now? I taught myself the basics of coding in four days using AI — and built something better than what a dev team would’ve delivered a decade ago. That’s not an exaggeration. Have you seen how fast AI coding is accelerating lately?! I have ZERO coding education but am about to launch an MVP (Minimum Viable Product) at Expo West next week. I started less than 5 months ago, and tbh, it wasn’t even full time working on it. That says a lot about where we’re at right now. You no longer need to be the person coding. Just need to have the ability to articulate a problem you want to solve. AI images and clips are funny, but coding is going to be the game changer. Where are you at with AI? Then full software engineering goes, and AI handles end-to-end product development. But here’s what nobody’s connecting: when you do 5% of the work and AI does 95%, you don’t become 5% as valuable. You actually become 20x more productive, because your 5% directs the entire output. Your judgment on what to build, your taste on whether it’s right, your understanding of the actual user problem. The math breaks normal logic. Less work doesn’t mean less value when that work is amplified by AI executing everything else. You’re not competing with AI at that point. You’re controlling it. The 5% you contribute gets multiplied by the 95% AI executes instantly. Eventually we hit 99% and that last 1% of human judgment might disappear too. But between here and there is a zone where knowing which 5% to do makes you irreplaceable. Most people are stuck trying to protect their 100%, which is the wrong game entirely. If AI doing 95% of coding makes you 20x more productive, what skills are you building right now to master the 5% that directs everything?
