LAHere's some raw cell phone video from the GR Factory line at Toyota Motor Manufacturing UK Burnaston located in Derbyshire. This line only builds GR Corollas. Currently they also make the regular Corolla Hatchback and also the wagon in a different building on a more traditional assembly line. It was cool to see the Corolla wagon because it's something we don't get in the US.
You can see my Supersonic Red (3U5) car for a bit, including them gluing the carbon roof on, but I moved further down the line also to show some different stations. This particular GR Factory line is the only one of it's kind outside of Japan. You'll notice that it's much more hand built than what you typically see on an assembly line. Currently they are running on two shifts on this line, early morning and an evening shift that ends at midnight. They build one GR Corolla every 21 minutes. It takes two full days from raw sheet metal to running and driving car.
See my previous post about why I picked up a GR Corolla. Long story short, my GR86 had to get destroyed so I bought a Corolla to replace it, but I asked the kind folks at Toyota if I could watch it get built from start to finish.
