If you struggle with effective studying, it’s not your fault. It most likely means you were not taught the right approach to studying. Here’s the difference between each student: ❌ 2.5 GPA: Brute-force memorization overloads your brain, so information never moves into long-term memory. This student will recognize concepts, but they won’t be able to apply them on the exam. ⚠️ 3.7 GPA: This student’s approach works better because they’re identifying weaknesses and practicing retrieval. BUT most students still mix reviewing with learning, which caps consistency. ✅ 4.0 GPA: The Cognitive Load strategy works because learning sticks when your brain isn’t overwhelmed. Here’s how to follow it: ———————— Day 7 – Map the test 🗺️ List every topic that could be tested and label each as weak, medium, or strong. Day 6 – Micro-recall 🧠 Quiz yourself on definitions, formulas, and core ideas using look-cover-say. Day 5 – Teach-back 🎙️ Explain each topic out loud in simple language until it makes sense without notes. Day 4 – Guided practice 🧩 Solve easy-to-medium problems with notes while explaining why each step works. Day 3 – Mixed practice 🔀 Practice mixed topics without notes to force retrieval and concept switching. Day 2 – Exam simulation ⏱️ Take a timed, no-notes practice set and immediately review every mistake. Day 1 – Lock-in & sleep 😴 Review only mistakes, stop studying by 7PM, and get a full eight hours of sleep. ———————— Comment STUDY and I’ll send my top study systems that helped me ace my Harvard classes 📚 #UltimateIvyLeagueGuide #UltimateMentor #UILG

Study LESS, learn MORE. It’s not about cramming for hours—it’s about how you study. Here’s how to maximize your learning with less time: 🧠 Active Recall – Stop rereading. Quiz yourself instead. The more you struggle to remember, the stronger the memory gets. ✍️ Scribble Method – Use your non-dominant hand to doodle messy scribbles while studying. It keeps your brain engaged and improves retention. 📢 Feynman Technique – If you can’t teach it simply, you don’t understand it. Break it down as if you’re explaining it to a child. 💻 Second Brain – Organize your notes digitally so you can quickly find, review, and connect key concepts. It’s not about how long you study—it’s about how efficiently you learn.

You’re taking notes wrong ⬇️ My biggest mistake as a student was writing down everything the professor said since “I wouldn’t miss anything” I was studying 6-8 hours a day, and averaging 70s… as an Asian… Chinese at that… I brought shame onto my family 😭 Until I realized I’ve been using my brain wrong We aren’t human copiers, we shouldn’t go to class to take notes just to go back and review later. We should understand it right then and there. 🤓 So how do I do this? Here’s 3 tips that brought me to a 94% average and reduced my study time to 1-2 hours per day: 1️⃣ Write as little as you possible can: Learning happens in the brain, not on paper. The less you write, the more time you have to synthesize the information in your brain and actually listen to what the professor is saying. This is counterintuitive and it will feel uncomfortable, but you have to trust your brain. 2️⃣ Stop using your laptop Linear notes on Google Docs or Notion do NOT help you learn because that’s not how our brain works. We learn by making new connections, so use mind mapping instead. (The map does not have to make logical sense at all, mines complete nonsense BUT it makes sense to me. That’s what matters) 3️⃣ PRE-Class review Take half an hour to skim over the topic being covered before class. It’s 100x easier to make connections if you have a general idea of what the topic is. This is why learning anything for the second time is always easier. (DONT ask yourself “why” questions here, the goal isn’t deep understanding, it’s exposure to the topic to cover as much surface area as you can) —- 🤯🥳 These techniques will prove to you that you aren’t a bad student, you just didn’t know how to learn properly. If it can take me from 70% to 94% while cutting down my study time, it can help you too. I hope it helps, follow along for more tips like this! I’ll see you tomorrow 🫶

yes studying can be mastered AND yes you can do it too 🫵🏼 I don’t consider myself “naturally smart”, but I do work hard and I neverrr give up. after almost a decade of studying, I would say I have perfected my craft and wanted to share 🙂‍↕️ I am a BIG visual learner so whenever I don’t understand a concept, I like to draw it out or look up pictures/videos to help me. Pomodoro method is also great for time tracking, but I personally tried it and was not a fan hehe :’) once my brain gets in the “mojo”, I don’t like to stop every 15 minutes or I lose my groove (ofc I take breaks when I need it though! I just prefer to study for longer periods and then go home). everyone is different, so experiment with different study techniques to find the one that most aligns with you! sometimes it can take a WHILE to figure out, which is okay 📚 📖 resources mentioned: @goodnotes.app , @notabilityapp , anki, @quizlet , @gizmo.ai_ 🧸: #fypreelsシ゚ #fypシ #trendingreels #fyp #trending #fypreelsinstagram #fypreels #fyptrending #fypage #study #studying #studyingtechniques #howtostudy #studytechniques #studystudy #studystudystudy #studywithme #pastudent #pastudents #paschool #paschoollife #prepra #premed #paschooljourney #medstudentlife #medstudent #studygram

Read caption!! In 10th grade, I was burned out—low motivation, bad grades, and zero focus. I’d spend hours “studying,” but nothing stuck. Then I came across the Feynman Technique, and it completely flipped how I learned. By 12th grade, I was studying just 1 hour a day and getting straight A’s. Here’s exactly how I used it: 1. Pick one concept at a time.
Don’t try to cover everything. Choose a single topic and focus on understanding it deeply. 2. Explain it out loud in simple language.
Pretend you’re teaching a 12-year-old. No notes, no jargon—just plain words. This forces your brain to organize the information clearly. 3. Find the gaps.
When you get stuck or can’t explain something smoothly, that’s where your real learning starts. Go back to your notes or textbook and fill in the blanks. 4. Simplify and repeat.
Keep refining your explanation until it sounds effortless. The simpler you can make it, the better you understand it. 5. Test yourself later.
Come back the next day and try explaining it again—without looking. If it still makes sense, you’ve mastered it. Once I started using this method, I didn’t need marathon study sessions. One focused hour with the Feynman Technique was more effective than three hours of rereading notes. If you’re stuck, stop memorizing—start explaining. It’ll change everything. Do yourself a favour… Hi, my name is Aria 👋 I used to be obsessed with studying. I was studying nearly every waking hour, yet my grades weren’t getting any better 🫤 As it turns out, I was wasting most of my time doing something that was only giving me the ‘illusion of learning,’ when it really wasn’t helping me at all. Once I stopped doing this, I was able to cut my studying time in half whilst also getting better results. I graduated Year 12 in the top 2% of the country, whilst also working a job, tutoring, going to the gym, having a relationship, seeing friends and family, and having time to rest. So, what was wasting so much time? Writing notes. Or, more specifically, rewriting them. Every day after school, I sat down for 2-3 hours and copied notes from my textbook into my notebook. It made me feel ‘productive’ since I was writing heaps of words (and making it look pretty), but did it actually help me learn? Nope. So what did I do instead? 1. ACTIVELY LISTENED IN CLASS I sat in my class and simply listened, thought about the content, and asked questions. By all means, if there was a specific piece of information I needed to remember, I would write it down, but otherwise, class was for listening. 2. MAKING FLASHCARDS Instead of rewriting my notes, I created flashcards directly from the textbook material. This allowed me to start active recall asap after leaning the content. I have since started using an AI flashcard maker to make this process even more time-efficient. 3. MINDMAPPING When learning a topic for the first time, I now grab a blank sheet of paper and, rather than taking neat, linear notes, I create a mind map of the topic. This gives a visual representation of the relationships between pieces of information, and helps me remember them better. Applying these tips helped me to halve my studying time, and ultimately gave me more time to spend doing other things that I love. I had created a balance that didn’t require me to sacrifice my grades. Follow to come along this journey with me in becoming a more balanced student. #studygram #studymotivation #study #studynotes #studytips #podcast #studentlife #student #students #studytime
