Most of the time it’s just tiny bad habits we’ve all picked up along the way.
Here are the ones I see ALL the time.
✨ Shampooing the ends instead of the scalp
Your scalp needs the cleanse, when you pile your hair on top of your head when shampooing, it seems foamy but the scalp might be getting missed (You are also drying out your lengths)
✨ Missing bits of your scalp
Behind the ears, the nape, the crown… those areas matter more than you think. If the foam isn’t even across the entire scalp, keep doing it until it is. I sometimes do 3 shampoos!
✨ Skipping the second cleanse
First wash lifts the grease. Second wash actually cleans. Do more if needed
✨ Using a shampoo that isn’t right for your hair
Too heavy = greasy.
✨Conditioner creeping up too high
It’s a mid-lengths and ends situation only, don’t plonk the conditioner near the top ever.
✨Not rinsing conditioner out properly
Any residue left behind = flat, greasy hair the next day. We’ve all been there right? 😆
✨ Using loads of product “just in case”
More doesn’t mean better. It just means build-up. And running out faster.
✨ Rushing your wash
A quick wash usually equals a dirty scalp. Make it a ritual, not a chore. Light a candle, play some music. This is your self care x
✨ Layering oils and masks without proper cleansing. You need to do a weekly detox shampoo or clarifying shampoo when you often apply masks and oils to your hair
✨ Washing your hair the moment it seems a little dirty. Your scalp is always producing oil, it’s a good thing. Work with it. A little greasy? Add oil to the ends and rock a slick look. Or a bun. Or a hat.

MEI lost count at 6! 🙃 how many do you see? Also, the reason I pluck my mole hairs is because they are terminal hairs (thicker and grow faster than vellus hair which is the peach fuzz). It makes more sense to pluck them.
