The truth is- handwriting starts long before a child ever holds a pencil It begins with building fine motor skills, hand strength, and understanding how letters are formed…. And I like to do all that through hands-on play! This simple letter formation activity does all of that at once. By pushing Q-tips into the holes along the shape of a letter, kids are strengthening the small muscles in their hands, developing motor planning skills, and learning how letters are constructed. Activities like this help build the foundation for writing, which helps make it easier for them to form letters when they’re ready to write. The best part is that this low-prep preschool activity can be used for any letters you are working on with your kids 🙌🏻 Save this easy fine motor activity for a simple, hands-on way to support handwriting skills and letter formation! #handsonlearning #finemotoractivities #activitiesforkids #motherhood #toddleractivities

💥 Invisible Air Pressure Experiment 💥 👉 Air is invisible… but it pushes with force! 💨 👉 In this simple classroom experiment, we placed a glove over a bottle and dipped it into water. 👉 As the bottle went inside water, pressure acted on the air trapped inside. 👉 The air pushed upward and made the glove move! Such a fun way to teach kids about air pressure in a visual way 👏. 🪄 Science becomes magical when children SEE it happening! 📌 If you love simple science like this, don’t forget to Like, Comment, Share, Save & Follow 💛 #ScienceForKids #AirPressure #STEMforKids #FunWithScience #HandsOnLearning [LearningThroughPlay SimpleScience ScienceExperiment KidsScience STEMActivities]

Science they can actually see 👀💧 This one turns your window into a mini weather lab—no prep, no mess, and somehow it keeps their attention the whole time. A little water, a drop of color, some cotton balls… and suddenly evaporation, condensation, and precipitation aren’t just big words—they’re happening right in front of them. It’s the kind of activity that feels like play but sneaks in real learning. And watching it change throughout the day? That’s the part they won’t stop talking about. Perfect for slow mornings, after school wind-downs, or anytime you want something simple that still feels exciting. Save this and try it later—then follow us for more easy wins like this 🤍 Tag us when you make yours, we love seeing how they turn out! 🎥 via TikTok @lazytoddlerlearning #Familify #STEMforKids #HandsOnLearning #EasyKidsActivities #ScreenFreeFun

Sun Science Series ☀️ | Breathing leaves 🍃 Without the sun, leaves couldn’t do this… The breathing leaves experiment is a great way to visualize photosynthesis and a fascinating conversation starter for kids. And all you need is fresh leaves, a glass of water, and a sunny spot. Place the leaves in the water and leave them in the sun for about an hour. Soon you’ll see tiny bubbles forming on the leaves - like they’re “breathing.” What’s happening? This is photosynthesis in action - and the sun is the key. Plants use sunlight as energy to start a chemical reaction and turn water and carbon dioxide into sugar (their food) and oxygen (just a byproduct for them, but essential for us). Leaves contain a green pigment called chlorophyll, which lives inside tiny structures called chloroplasts. Chlorophyll acts like a solar panel, absorbing energy from sunlight. Using that energy, the plant breaks apart the water and carbon dioxide molecules and rearranges them. The oxygen is released through tiny openings in the leaves called stomata. Normally we can’t see this, but underwater the oxygen forms visible bubbles - so you’re actually watching the result of sunlight powering life on Earth. A simple experiment that shows how the sun helps plants make the oxygen we breathe ☀️✨ More Sun Science is coming in our little series, so follow along @funplayjoy4kids! #SunScience#Photosynthesis#STEMForKids#scienceisfun #HandsOnLearning

Need a fun activity this weekend? Try this! 🍭DIY ROCK CANDY! 🍭 Ingredients: 4 cups water, 10 cups of sugar (It’s an approx 1:3 water sugar ratio), food coloring. Equipment: 5 skewers, 5 mason jars, 5 clothes pins. Instructions: - Wet your 5 skewers and coat them in sugar. Leave them to dry completely overnight. - Boil 4 cups of water, and add 10 cups of sugar cup by cup. Stir between each cup and make sure that the sugar has dissolved to clear before adding another cup. Let this mixture sit for 20-25 minutes. - Warm up your mason jars by rinsing them in warm water. *Key note! Don’t move the mason jars around - place them where you want them to sit for the next 7 days. - Add your sugar mixture and a few drops of food coloring to each mason jar. Stir to combine. - Use a clothespin to hold your sugar skewer about an inch from the bottom of each mason jar. - Watch them grow for about 7 days into rock candy! - After pulling them out of the jars I left them to dry on paper towels for 20-30 mins. #activitiesforkids #diyplay #handsonlearning #learningthroughplay #kidsactivitiesathome

You don’t need flashcards or worksheets to teach 3D shapes. You need hands. You need movement. You need something they can actually build. Because when kids touch it, connect it, and create it, they don’t just memorize math. They understand it. This took us maybe 10 minutes. And he’ll remember it way longer than anything on paper. 👇 Save this for your next math lessonand follow for more real homeschool ideas that actually work. 🪐We finished this project a few weeks back, but I never got around to putting a video together. I think it deserves a spot on the grid! We added this art project to our @projectbasedprimary space unit! We took an in-depth look at our solar system, researching, creating, and making a fact sheet for each planet. We both love adding art to our learning, especially our science units. #spacestudy #artandscience #homeschoolkindergarten #handsonlearning #projectbasedlearning
