7 labs. Most women have never had a single one of them run. P.S. Comment MASTERCLASS and join me tomorrow night — Thursday at 6:30PM CST. I’m walking through exactly what these markers mean and what to do when your standard panel says normal but your body says otherwise. 👇🏾 The standard panel detects disease. These 7 detect dysfunction. There is a lot of suffering in the space between those two words. Fasting insulin — glucose can be completely normal while your insulin works four times harder than it should. That gap drives midsection weight, afternoon crashes, and brain fog for years before anyone flags it. Free T3 — TSH tells your thyroid to produce hormone. Free T3 is what your cells actually use. You can have a perfect TSH and still be running at 60% thyroid output. Ferritin — optimal is 50-100. Most women with fatigue and hair loss are sitting at 15-22 and being told they’re fine. Homocysteine — a downstream sign of B12 and folate deficiency even when serum B12 looks normal. Connected to brain fog, cognitive slowing, and mood. Changes the entire conversation about why the B12 supplement isn’t working. hs-CRP — has to be specifically requested. Most women have never had it run. Chronic low-grade inflammation on this marker is connected to weight resistance, fatigue, and hormonal disruption simultaneously. DHEA-S — your stress resilience hormone. Depleted in almost every chronically exhausted woman I see. Almost never ordered. RDW — on your standard CBC right now. Above 14 has been well correlated with gluten sensitivity nobody has ever tested for. Seven numbers. One complete picture. Save this. Bring it to your next appointment. Comment MASTERCLASS — tomorrow night, Thursday 6:30PM CST. 👇🏾 #functionalmedicine #hormonebalance #guthealth #testnotguess

You’re bloated, exhausted, moody—and your labs came back “normal.” So why do you still feel like a stranger in your own body? P.S. I put together a free guide with my top 5 starter labs and exactly how to ask for them. Comment “LABS” below and I’ll DM it to you directly. Here’s the truth: most women are tested incorrectly—or not thoroughly enough. If you’ve spent months Googling your symptoms, here are 7 labs that could’ve saved you the struggle: 1. Reverse T3 – Like a broken key in the lock. It blocks active thyroid hormone from doing its job. Can make you feel hypothyroid even when TSH and T3 look “fine.” 2. Fasting Insulin – You can have normal blood sugar and still be insulin resistant. This test reveals the early warning signs before glucose shifts. 3. Ferritin – Low = poor energy, metabolism, hair health, and thyroid function. But high ferritin? Can signal inflammation your provider may be missing. 4. hs-CRP – One of the best markers for silent inflammation. Predicts chronic issues before symptoms ever show up. 5. Liver Enzymes (AST, ALT, Alk Phos) – • Elevated AST/ALT can point to a sluggish or stressed liver—often from toxins, blood sugar issues, or hormone buildup. • Low Alk Phos? That’s a clue for zinc deficiency, low stomach acid, or sluggish bile flow. 6. DUTCH (or Saliva) Cortisol Test – Your hormone levels might look fine… but it’s the patterns and metabolites that show what’s really happening behind the scenes. 7. Lp(a) – An often-ignored cardiovascular test. 1 in 5 people have elevated levels… and don’t even know it. Can drive serious risk even with “normal” cholesterol. 👉🏾 These are the tests I run with nearly every client—and the ones that finally give them answers. 💬 Comment “LABS” below and I’ll DM you my free guide on the top 5 starter labs to ask for and how to ask for them. It’s time to stop guessing and start testing. Your body’s been speaking—let’s finally listen. 🧬✨ —— Disclaimer: This content is for educational purposes only and is not medical advice. If you’ve ever been told “your labs look normal”… this one’s for you 👇🏾 After reviewing thousands of lab panels, there’s one test I wish every woman had run — because it explains so much about fatigue, cravings, mood swings, and stubborn weight that standard panels completely miss. 🎯 P.S. I break this all down in my Free Lab Guide for Women — so you know exactly what to ask for (and how to interpret it). Comment LABS below and I’ll send it to you. Here’s what most doctors never tell you: ➡️ Your labs are designed to detect disease — not dysfunction. If your numbers aren’t dangerously off, they’re marked as “normal,” even if you feel exhausted, anxious, or inflamed. ➡️ One of the most overlooked markers? Fasting insulin. It reveals how your body’s handling blood sugar long before glucose or A1C ever rise. And when it’s elevated — even slightly — it can block fat loss, increase cravings, and trigger energy crashes. ➡️ Optimal and “normal” are not the same thing. Most women are living in that gray zone — not sick, but definitely not well. That’s where root-cause medicine steps in: connecting the dots between your stress, hormones, and metabolism before things snowball. ➡️ When you get the right data, you make the right changes. You stop guessing, stop chasing symptoms, and finally see why your body hasn’t been responding. 💛 That’s why I created my Free Lab Guide for Women — it walks you through the 5 markers I check on every client and what “optimal” actually looks like. 🎥 Just comment LABS below — because you deserve clarity, not confusion. — ⚕️ Disclaimer: This content is for educational purposes only and is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Blood tests help you catch illness or diseases early, and to see how well your body reacts to treatments for various conditions. Here’s a list of 12 annual blood tests every woman should consider doing once a year - 1. Vitamin B12 Folate - Helps assess your brain, blood and nervous system’s health. 2. Vitamin D - To assess bone health, fertility and immune health. 3. Thyroid - These tests help to check your metabolic/thyroid function and also assess your body for any autoimmune disorders. 4. Iron Status - Ensure you ask for total iron, total iron binding capacity, and ferritin. 5. HBA1C - This test helps assess the average plasma glucose in your bloodstream over the last 2-3 months. 6. Lipid Panel - This will check for the following: * Total cholesterol. * LDL (low-density lipoprotein), the “bad cholesterol” * HDL (high-density lipoprotein), the “good cholesterol” * Triglycerides, the most common type of fat in your body If possible, try asking for your omega 3 and omega 6 levels too. 7. Hormone Panel - Are you hormonal? The Hormone Panel test assesses levels of the different hormones in women as they age. These include - * DHEA-S * Estradiol * Free and Total Testosterone * Progesterone 8. Fasting Insulin - Assesses any level of insulin resistance that could contribute to blood sugar irregulation, diabetes or other metabolic resistance. 9. hs-CRP - Checks for acute illness and long-term low-grade inflammation. 10. Complete Blood Count - Checking if you’re at the ‘pink’ of your health To test red and white blood cells - the important players in immune function, vitamin deficiencies and oxygen transportation. 11. Calcium - The decline in the hormone estrogen as a woman ages causes her bones to thin faster this is why it is specially important for woman above 35 to test their levels of calcium. 12. Homocysteine - Used to measure the amount of homocysteine, an amino acid in the body, diagnose vitamin B6, B9 or B12 deficiency. To know more about why these tests and parameters make a significant difference to your health and treatment plan, check out our latest blog by clicking on the link in our bio.

Hormones, the menstrual cycle and how they affect a woman’s fitness progress. Originally saw this from @tombaileypt and wanted to showcase it myself. It is incredible to me how different the female body is to a male’s. Lads, we really have it very easy you know. This is a *general* synopsis of how much the female body can change during a month. Every woman is different and it’s important to learn about your own cycle and hormonal changes and how it affects you personally. But understanding it can hugely help your training, recovery and progress. Capeesh 🤌🏼 Coach James

The boring stuff is boring for a reason. It works. Morning sunlight, protein, blood sugar, sleep, hobbies you actually enjoy, none of it is new. But most people are still not doing it consistently because no one has ever connected the dots for them. The last one on the list is where I come in. Running the right labs tells you exactly where your body is struggling so you stop guessing and start fixing. DM me LABS if you want to know what I test and why.
