Why shouldn’t you buy adorable ladybugs to introduce to your garden? For starters, the “supplies” are mostly found in the wild, and populations are now in decline. Those who hunt them to sell them also destroy habitat, and shipped ladybugs have spread parasites and disease to other bugs, as well. (And the good folks @ArbicoOrganics don’t recommend you buy them, even though they follow best practices). The good news? There are new bugs to learn about and get excited about from @ArbicoOrganics that eat far more aphids than ladybugs. When it’s cool we use Assassin bugs - they’ll eat up aphids, whiteflies, thrips, spider mites… real garden pals. When the weather is warmer, Green Lacewings and Hover Flies. Learn something?
