Last year I was diagnosed with PMDD, a severe hormonal condition that causes extreme pain and mental/physical exhaustion for about 2 weeks every month. I couldn’t just tough it out anymore. So I got help. My therapist gave me 3 tips I thought were way too simple to work. I was wrong. 1️⃣ Develop a relaxing bedtime AND morning routine, train your body how to relax through stress 2️⃣ Invest in comfy pajamas and bedding that feels like a cloud. Rest is medicine. 3️⃣ Beat cravings with water, tea, fruit, and electrolytes most cravings are dehydration in disguise What’s one thing that’s actually helps YOU manage your period ? 👇

For the girlies that feel like a 🚀on the 🚽 as soon as shark week hits👇🏻 Maybe you even notice struggling to 💩 the few days before… There’s a few reasons for this: 1-Prostaglandins. These hormone-like compounds that are responsible for stimulating not only our uterus so it can shed it’s lining, but also our bowels. Which can look like a bit more poop frequency. And for the gals that feel glued to their bottle of midol… this is also one of the main reasons why periods may be painful, too many inflammatory prostaglandins. 2-Hormonal shifts. Right before your period, progesterone which normally slows things down in the gut and can cause constipation, suddenly drops which means things may speed up a little. 3-Mineral imbalances especially with copper, zinc, sodium, potassium and magnesium can all impact how well we are able to balance blood sugar, detoxify excess hormones *cough**cough* estrogen especially. losing your period is NOT normal 💌 here goes the most important post I’ve ever shared ❤️ when I was fifteen, I lost my period due to a condition called relative energy deficiency in sport (RED-S) - caused by an imbalance between the energy going into your body, and the energy coming out. But despite its name, RED-S doesn’t just affect athletes. Increasingly, as fitness culture has exploded, women in particular are training harder, for longer and more often. Often, this isn’t paired with adequate fuelling and as such our very smart bodies switch off internal processes in order to conserve energy for movement. It’s taken multiple misdiagnoses, one long battle with disordered eating, and numerous suggestions to “just go on the pill” or to “come back when I’m ready for a baby” to get here, but my gosh am I proud and grateful that I stuck with it. If you’re also on this journey, believe me I know how lonely, demoralised, broken and confused you can feel at times. But you don’t have to do it alone.
