This is so much easier than frogging! 🐸 This is a super versatile fix for so many different mistakes - I’ve used it on everything from split stitches like these to colourwork to cables (and lace, though that one isn’t for the faint of heart). You can unravel multiple stitches at a time if you’re dealing with a larger mistake, but it’s good to try it on a smaller issue at first just to get the feel for it. I’m fixing Hayst in this video, a new summer top I’m working on. The pattern is in the final tweaking stage, so I’ll be looking for test knitters soon - if you’re interested, subscribe to the newsletter at the link in my bio and you’ll be the first to know about the test ♥️ #knitweardesigner #knittingtechniques #summerknits #summerknitwear #knittop

Have you ever wanted to knit just a little bit faster? If not, then you’re a peaceful chill girl and I’m happy for you. But for me, I really love finishing things and speed makes me happy 😎 I’ve been knitting as long as I can remember, & here are 5 ways I’ve increased my knitting speed over the last few years I want to note, these ways aren’t for everyone but it’s what has helped me! 1. Learn both continental style AND English style. For most knitters, continental is faster but knowing both strengthens the hand muscles and makes both ways quicker 2. Knowing both styles will also make knitting colorwork SO fast. You can hold one color in each hand for less adjustments 3. Ignore anyone who says their way of knitting is the ultimate fastest. It might be for them specifically, but we all have different hands and muscles, so what works for you might not work for someone else 4. You can knit one way, and purl another. I knit continental, but when I have to do a full row of purl, I switch to English because I prefer my tension that way 5. Learn to crochet too! You don’t have to put down the needles forever but I think to the point of learning both styles, it makes your muscles stronger and truly trains you to be faster 6. Sea of stockinette in the round! Ahh so satisfying when you can just fly and obviously faster when you don’t have to think 7. Focus on smaller movements done with bigger muscles to make your technique more ergonomic 8. Increase those needle size, but not too big! The sweet spot for most people is right around size 8 or 9. Any larger and it can cause muscle tension 9. Listen to your body! If something hurts, be sure to take a break and mix up your technique to counteract any pain 10. Practice!! I’m fast because I’ve been knitting for longer than I’ve been reading. The more you do it the faster you will become Anything I missed? Comment below! I’m always looking for ways to increase speed 🧶🐎 Pattern is Berlin Scarf by @paulastrickt knit in OL Fluff #knitting #knittersofinstagram #knittingtips #knittingaddict #knittinginspiration #knittingismyyoga #knitknitknit #speedknitting #mnknitters #originallylovely #knittersgonnaknit

I’ll start! Don’t worry about holding yarn in both hands right away! Focus on tension by dropping the strand you’re not using and stick to your usual knitting style. I’ve made plenty of sweaters this way and eventually transitioned to holding one strand in each hand, but there’s no rush to learn a new knitting method just to do stranded colourwork. The key is to stretch out the stitches you’ve just knit before switching colours. This keeps the float at the back loose enough for stretch! 🧶✨ Hope that was helpful! And I hope there will be many more great tips in the comments! Music from #Uppbeat, https://uppbeat.io/t/justin-lee/wanderlust. License code: CNZVVAMAKM9XV5LZ

Seeing videos of people using all these methods to memorise knitting increases and how they lean, and I’m just wondering if anyone has tried just looking at the stitch? 😂 I’m being very simplistic here and referring to the stitch I’m working in the video which is a make one left and right leaning I can see if I’ve lifted my stitch wrong because it’ll leave a big gaping hole when I work it? On a raglan I just remember if I need to lean ‘away’ from the centre stitch or ‘towards’ it. It’s also a great technique for learning how to read your stitches. I usually find some of the rhyming and visual cues suggested more confusing. 🫤 Anyway I am actually curious about how we’re remembering our increases? #knit #knitwear #knittingtechnique #knitter #knitting
