The main reason I avoided setting up my own desk at home before now was space – we don’t have a dedicated ‘room’ that was free for me – but Humanscale’s cute, compact and ergonomic Float Mini Desk and World Chair are the perfect solution.

First: a moment for the World Chair. Created by legendary industrial designer Niels Diffrient, this chair uses physics and the sitter’s own body weight to provide automatic, optimized support. Plus, it’s SO aesthetic. There are multiple frame, mesh and seat options available and I took advantage, customizing my chair with this stunning pink fabric that ties in effortlessly with the look and feel of the rest of our home.

It pairs perfectly with the Float Mini Desk, which transitions from sit to stand with the simple push of a lever. Most of all, though, I love that this desk has a small footprint yet ample worksurface space.
