Us girls who are hypersensitive to rejection show interest by shutting our eyes and completely turning away from any attractive person 😙 xxxx My therapist loves to give me challenges and I hate doing them lol. I also hate that so many of them seem soooo stupidly easy but there’s me with an oura ring that says my heart rate is “stressed”. LOL NICE ONE I googled if there’s anything scientific behind the classic nose scratch and it said that it’s either a self-soothing behaviour or an ‘escape behaviour’ along with looking away, fidgeting and adjusting hair or clothes. Which makes sense because my brain feels like it needs to do something because everything in that moment feels intense lol Funny Anyway, I scrolled on my phone and found this and now I’ve procrastinated for over an hour so back to my book writing I go

“I’m not doing it now just because you just told me I have to” This is demand avoidance—a neurological response where ADHD brains become hypersensitive to perceived loss of control. The second a task becomes an obligation, your motivation completely disappears. You can hyperfocus for 10 hours on a passion project, but ask you to do 10 minutes of an assigned task? Your brain shuts down completely. It’s not defiance or stubbornness. It’s biology. Demand avoidance is tied to genetic variants that make ADHD brains react to external demands as threats. When someone imposes a requirement, it triggers a stress response that shuts down your prefrontal cortex and turns off your dopamine system—literally disabling your ability to execute the task. For years, I felt broken. I’d avoid tasks I actually wanted to do simply because someone told me I “should” do them. I couldn’t understand why I was sabotaging myself. Genetic testing showed me my specific genetic variants. Once I understood my brain’s need for autonomy, I stopped fighting it. I learned to reframe obligations as choices, build novelty into boring tasks, and work WITH my wiring instead of against it. You’re not difficult. Your brain needs autonomy to function. Understanding your specific genetic variants—DRD4, DAT1, COMT—can finally explain why you resist what you “should” do. 💬 Comment “DEMAND” to learn your unique genetic blueprint-print! ➕ Follow for ADHD and genetic insights

To receive my Autism support guide comment “BRAIN” below! An autistic brain is dependent on neurotransmitters, and hypersensitive to cortisol. An autistic gut is hypersensitive to oxalates and stimulation. That means healthy foods like cruciferous vegetables and green juices can actually make things worse. This means we need to be extra sensitive about the foods consumed. #autism #asd brainhealth

You’ve noticed it. Different cities. Different countries. Same haircut and m no… it’s not random. It’s biology, psychology, and algorithms working together. Here’s the science behind it! During adolescence, the brain becomes hypersensitive to social reward. The limbic system the part of the brain that processes emotion and belonging is highly active, while the prefrontal cortex responsible for independent thinking and long-term decisions is still developing. 👉 This creates a bias toward fitting in rather than standing out. From a neuroscience perspective, studies show that teenagers experience a stronger dopamine response to peer approval than adults. Dopamine is a neurochemical linked to reward and motivation. So when a certain look gets attention, likes, or social status, the brain encodes that as: “This = acceptance” and then it repeats the behavior. There’s also something called normative social influence, where we: 👉 We conform to be liked, accepted, and part of the group even if we don’t consciously realise it. The brain’s mirror neuron system which helps us learn by observing and copying others and suddenly trends spread fast and wide. 👉 Of course algorithms amplify what’s already popular. So teenagers aren’t just seeing a trend in their school, they’re seeing the same look validated globally, thousands of times a day. That’s how this haircut has become a worldwide identity. This pattern doesn’t disappear with age. It just evolves. Less about hair and more about how people think, live, spend, and perform. Same brain. More sophisticated copying. So the real question is: 👉 Are you choosing your identity… or reinforcing what your brain has learned gets approval? Mental fitness isn’t about avoiding trends but understanding the forces shaping your decisions so we can choose consciously, not automatically. Happy Hair Gen Z’s 🫶

🎧Attention all my amazing followers! Did you know that headphones are essential for Autistic people? 🤔🌟 🎶 Many individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) are hypersensitive to sound and can become overwhelmed by noise in their environment. Using headphones can provide a sense of calm and reduce anxiety in these situations. 🙏 👉 So if you know someone with ASD or if you are on the spectrum yourself, try using noise-cancelling headphones or earbuds to help you feel more comfortable in loud or busy environments. Your sensory experience will thank you! 💕 #AutismAwareness #SensoryProcessingDisorder #HeadphonesForAutism #ReduceAnxiety #QuietComfort #NoiseCancellingHeadphones #StayCalmAndFocused #InclusiveSociety #Empowerment #SpreadLove 💙

These are not just signs of hair loss, but a specific type of hair loss called androgenetic alopecia. Your follicles are hypersensitive to a hormone called DHT that attacks your follicles and causes inflammation (and scalp tenderness). The hair shedding is completely normal, because the hairs aren’t falling out, they just get progressively thinner over time. That’s why you will notice a difference in hair volume before you even notice a difference in scalp coverage. Over time, most women see the thinning around the top of their scalp and sometimes on the sides. Treatment: 1) The best treatment is 5% minoxidil foam BUT, you can also try a more “natural approach” first 2) Serums that have arginine, peptides and natural DHT blockers (like @theordinary hair growth peptide serum) 3) Foods high in phytoestrogens, like flaxseeds, edamame and tofu 4) Supplements to reduce inflammation (trichologists recommend tyrosine and N acetyl cysteine, if you want to take them read up on contraindications bc they can interfere with certain medications) 5) Antioxidants (the BEST scalp antioxidants are melatonin and vitamin D!) Where are my hypersensitive girlies at?! Did you know that a challenge to myself to wear my hair down every day was part of what lead to my ADHD diagnosis? True story. I lol every single time I put my hair down before filming a video. It is beautiful and deserves to be seen, but my truth is that my hair is wadded into a knot while I work. I love my hair. I do not love feeling my hair. 😂🤷🏻‍♀️❤️ #adhd #adhdawareness #adhdwomen #hypersensitive #hypersensitivity #adhdproblems #adhdmemes #truestory

👶🤫 In A Quiet Place, Earth has been overrun by blind alien creatures with hypersensitive hearing that hunt anything making a sound. The Abbott family lives in near-total silence, communicating through sign language and taking extreme precautions to survive. Even the slightest noise can lead to instant death, making everyday life a constant, tense struggle. When the mother becomes pregnant, the family prepares for the near-impossible task of delivering and caring for a baby without making noise. A series of events leads the creatures to discover their home, forcing them into a desperate fight for survival. In the end, they uncover a weakness in the creatures’ hearing, hinting at humanity’s chance to fight back. Like this content? Follow us for more @memezar ❤️ #memezar #relatable
