STOP SCROLLING 🚨if you struggle with Sandbag Lunges, THIS is the tip no one tells you!! ⬇️ Find your rhythm and stick to it. Once you lock into a pace that feels natural, hold it as long as you can ⚡️ “Fall” forward on purpose. Use the weight on your shoulders to let your body naturally fall into the next step. Don’t fight the bag let it work for you. 🫱🏽‍🫲🏼😉 Don’t walk a tightrope. Place your feet slightly outward instead of in a straight line. This tiny adjustment gives you way more stability. 👏🏼 Start without a reset step. Go continuous as long as possible. When you start to burn out: add a quick, light “tap step” between reps to stay controlled without losing momentum. 👀⚡️ These are the exact things I do in every race simple, but game-changing. 🔥❤️ Follow me for real, honest tips from a Hyrox Pro athlete & Hyrox Ambassador. sled pull 101: HINGE/SNAP/WALK IT BACK sled pull technique matters more than strength. most athletes gas their arms or quad because they treat the sled pull like solely as a upper-body OR lower body exercise when you should be using your entire body for power here’s how I coach it: HINGE: sit the hips back and stay low so you can use your glutes and keep your core engaged. This puts you in a strong position instead of yanking with your biceps. SNAP: pull the rope fast and tight toward your body, engaging your lats and trunk. The power comes from your back and hips, not your arms. WALK IT BACK: as you pull, walk your feet back to keep constant tension on the rope. No slack means smoother sled movement and less wasted effort. when you simplify the movement into these three cues, the sled moves better, your arms last longer, and you’re not wrecked heading into the next run. Hinge. Snap. Walk it back 🫡 @hyroxca . . . #hyroxtraining #sledpull #hyroxworkout #hyroxtips #hyroxathlete

💥 Stop Wasting Energy on the HYROX Sled Push – Try This Instead! A) ❌ Tall & Toasted – worst technique (especially for the PRO category). You're fully upright, hands high, pushing with your quads only. Zero leverage, zero efficiency. Legs burn out instantly. B) ❌ Half Lean, Half Power – a bit better. You lean forward slightly, hands mid-level. It's okay, but you're still leaving power on the table and wasting energy. C) ✅ Low Drive Position – the best PRO technique. Hands low, torso almost parallel to the ground, powerful leg drive from glutes and hamstrings. Strong, stable, fast – even when you're tired or the floor is slippery. ✅ This is how top athletes move the sled. 👇 Tried them all and see the result! 🚀 Want to train properly and finally see real progress? 10 things I wish I knew before my first HYROX Each station and the lessons I’ve learned 👇 1️⃣ SkiErg — Don’t sprint the start. It feels easy because you’re fresh, but you’ll spike your heart rate instantly. Long strokes, hinge at the hips, breathe every pull. This sets up your entire race. 2️⃣ Sled Push — It’s heavier than you think. Short steps > big drives. 3️⃣ Sled Pull — Use your legs, not your arms. Sit back, brace your core, hand-over-hand smoothly. If you yank the rope, you’ll blow up your grip before halfway. 4️⃣ Burpee Broad Jumps — Pacing is EVERYTHING. Big jumps are good, but steady jumps are better. Find a rhythm and stay low to control that HR. 5️⃣ Row — This is the only time your going to get to sit down so enjoy a little bit of recovery. 70–75% effort, long strokes, legs doing the work. 6️⃣ Farmers Carry — Grip is the limiter, not your legs. Relax your shoulders, quick small steps, and only put them down once if you can. Every drop costs loads of time!!! 7️⃣ Sandbag Lunges — This is where races fall apart. Slow down, breathe, and keep your chest upright. Step-pause-step rhythm saves your quads. 8️⃣ Wall Balls — This is gunna suck so accept that and start in controlled sets early. Be strict with your breaks and leave everything here. 9️⃣ Rox Zone — Don’t hang around. Get in, get out.. You lose minutes here without realising. 🔟 The Runs — They are NOT recovery runs. First 200–300m: settle your breathing. Then lock into a sustainable pace. HYROX is a pacing race. What’s your best HYROX tip ? “how can I train for Hyrox without access to sleds?!” is one of the most frequently asked questions I get 👇🏽

While I always explain its really important to get on a sled similar in structure to the one you will use on race day at least ONCE A WEEK in the 12 weeks leading up to your race, there are MANY exercises that you can do before then, and throughout your training cycles that DO NOT INVOLVE A SLED that will have direct transfer to your abilities on the sled on race day.

In my first Hyrox race last November, the Sled Pull ate me alive. My technique was all over the place and I very clearly did not have the muscle endurance in the specific areas I needed for that movement, at that weight.

In addition to technique changes I made (comment TECHNIQUE and I will DM you that video!) I went back to the drawing board and started implementing different exercises into my strength work that I knew would have direct carry over. These are 3 of my absolute favorites and ones I keep going back to.

The sled pull is now one of my preferred stations and I absolutely love knowing it was from big work I did in my HOME GYM that paid off.

These exercises are all part of my @honoryournutrition HYROX PROGRAM (which I personally follow right now!). Comment “PROGRAM” or send me a DM if you would like the direct link to train with me ♥️

How To Split The Race Stations? Ever wondered how to actually split the work in a Hyrox Doubles race without blowing up your partner? 👀
Here’s how we did it, finished strong in 1:07, each of us feeling like we pulled our own weight and, most importantly, worked as a team the whole way through 💥 Run: Aim for 4:40–4:50/km
SkiErg: 200m (me) / 300m (him)
Sled Push: 12.5m each
Sled Pull: 1/3 lane (me) / 2/3 lane (him)
Burpee Broad Jumps: 20m each
Row: 400m (me) / 600m (him)
Farmer’s Carry: 100m each
Lunges: 25m each
Wall Balls: 30 + 20 each My Top Doubles Strategy Tips:
✅ Let the faster runner start and/or finish each station
✅ Stronger partner should do 60%+ of the heavier stations
✅ Pick a running pace the slower runner can hold — middle ground wins
✅ PRACTICE your station transitions before race day
✅ Check in during runs — “How are you feeling? Any changes needed?” Doubles is all about communication, pacing, and playing to your strengths — not trying to be the hero. 👇 Do you prefer Hyrox Doubles or Solo? Here are my tips on sandbag lunges 🙋🏽‍♀️ Feel like you guys enjoy these reels so I’ll keep them coming 🤓😃 Of course these are my personal tips, and everyone has different preferences, so do what works for you! Sandbag lunges feel really easy to me, prob because I’m so short and I’m pretty quad dominant too, so that definitely helps! 1️⃣ Long strides mean fewer total lunges to cover 🤷🏽‍♀️ However only do this if you have good balance. Ive noticed huuge improvements since I planned single leg bar bell split squats in my training program. 2️⃣ I think ill get some haters on this one but I find the mid step to be a big waste of time/energy and breaks my focus/rhythm 🤡 yes my legs feel like jelly on the run post-lunges, but after a minute or two the feeling is gone (thanks creatine). 3️⃣ Looking slightly forward and down stabilizes your posture and helps balance. If you look too high, the sandbag pulls your torso backward; too low and you round forward. 4️⃣ I like to inhale as i lower into the lunge, exhale as i drive up. It avoids breath-holding under the sandbag and also helps my pacing. 5️⃣ Core is sooo important on this one. Tightening your core locks your torso in place, so the bag doesn’t bounce or twist you off-line. You guys have any other tips, or agree/disagree with mine? I’m all ears 👂👀 #hyroxtips #hyroxme #hyroxtraining #hyroxworld #hyroxtraining🏃🏻‍♂️ #hyroxdaily #hyroxindia #training #sandbaglunges

EPISODE 1 – SKIERG: MASTER THE START 🏁🔥 Most beginners make the same mistake on the SkiErg… They go too hard, too early and pay for it the entire race. In HYROX, the SkiErg isn’t just another station. It’s where your race really begins. In this first episode with Carla, we show you how to approach the SkiErg the right way: – Dial in your technique for maximum efficiency – Find the right pace from the first pull – Use your hips and core instead of burning out your arms – Stay in control and set yourself up for the rest of the race Because the goal isn’t to win the SkiErg… It’s to come off it stronger than everyone else. If you get this right, everything that follows becomes easier. 🎯 Focus: Control your effort. Build your rhythm. Start smart. 📩 Want to train smarter for HYROX? HYROX Sled Pull tips 👇 To master the Sled Pull and PB your next hyrox race, follow these four technique tips which have helped me shave over 2 minutes and 20 seconds of my sled push station time.   TIP #1: Strategic Rope Management The difference between the average and elites starts before you even touch the sled. Here’s what you need to do: * Choose which side of the white box you want to stand * Designate the other side of your box a specific coiling zone for the rope * This prevents tripping and lets you use the FULL length of the box on each pull TIP #2: Maximize Your Pull Distance This is where the real time-saving begins: * Eliminate ALL slack before pulling * Count your steps on your first pull to use the entire box consistently, with each pull * Start each pull at the front of the box and * Maximize the lever reach with your arms by leaning forward as you grip the rope By combining tips 1 and 2, you’re already pulling more efficiently than most. But here’s where it gets interesting... TIP #3: The Synchronized Pull Technique This is the real game-changer: * Merge your lean-back pull and hand-over technique into ONE fluid movement * Now this works best with open weight rather than pro weight * You will cover more distance per pull using this method Now for the final piece that ties everything together... TIP #4: Harness Your Full Body Weight This technique feels counterintuitive but delivers incredible results: * Get comfortable leaning back with your ENTIRE body weight * Wear shoes with sufficient grip to prevent slipping * Practice this technique before your race day * You’ll use gravity and body weight for maximum efficiency The difference between finish times isn’t just strength or fitness—it’s technique.   Follow and subscribe for our complete Hyrox station training technique series. #hyroxtips #hyroxsledpull #sledpull #hyrox #hyroxuk #hyroxmanchester #hyroxtraining #hyroxworld #hyroxglasgow #hyroxglasgow2024 #hyroxmanchester2024 #hyroxtraining #hyroxworld #hyroxlondon #hyroxlondonolympia #hyroxlondon2025
