SOMy least favorite part of baking has always been how wasteful it can feel.
I grew up in a home where you finished what was on your plate before going back for more, so tossing out stale cookies or leftover frosting without hesitation was always difficult for me.
But over time, one of the things I’ve come to love about baking is finding creative ways to cut down on that waste, like this pie crust made entirely from leftover cereal, stale cookies, and granola!
Hopefully this inspires you to think twice before tossing those odds and ends in your pantry because not only does it ease the guilt, it’s also one of the easiest ways to turn “almost trash” into a seriously delicious new dessert :))

JABaking powder without the aluminum 🤍
Most store-bought baking powders contain aluminum-based additives, which have been linked in studies to potential neurological concerns, including Alzheimer’s.
And while the research is still evolving it was enough for me to take a closer look at what I was using every day. So I started making my own.
It takes seconds:
2 parts cream of tartar
1 part baking soda
1 part arrowroot powder
Then give it a shake.
No fillers. No unnecessary additives. Just simple ingredients I already keep in my kitchen.
This is one of those small swaps that feels almost too easy but adds up over time. Because when you start making your own staples, you’re not just saving money you’re simplifying your pantry and taking control of what goes into your food.
