By using the third kinematic equation and substituting gravity (g) for acceleration, we can derive the Maximum Height formula! This is a staple in high school physics and the foundation for ballistics and aerospace engineering. Wave Speed Equation The wave speed equation is ubiquitous across physics. You’ll see it appear in textbooks on topics ranging from Classical Mechanics to Quantum Mechanics to Relativity. We use it all the time in Physics class to calculate the speed, wavelength or frequency of different kinds of waves (Electromagnetic, Sound, Water etc.) And yet, we don’t usually give much thought to what it is trying to convey or what it means visually. The β€œintuition” behind it, so to speak. In this reel we break this equation down part by part and try to dig a little deeper into how it explains a deep, fundamental relation between three properties of any wave: its speed, frequency and wavelength.
