The male Imperious Sawyer (Enoplocerus armillatus), also called the giant longhorn beetle, is among the largest beetles in South America. Some individuals stretch nearly 5 inches (12.7 cm) long, not even counting those enormous antennae.
Those long, sweeping feelers aren’t just for show. Longhorn beetles use them to navigate bark, detect chemicals in the air, and locate potential mates across the forest.
As larvae, they spend years tunneling through dead or dying wood, quietly recycling fallen trees back into the ecosystem. By the time the adults emerge, the rainforest has already been reshaped by their hidden work.

SNAn insect so large, its wings sound like a helicopter. The elephant beetle or Megasoma elephas, is an iconic rhinoceros beetle species originating across Central and South America. In recent years, they have become popular breeds throughout the beetle rearing industry internationally as well.
Despite their heavy build, these incredible beetles are still able to take flight. Like a living transformer, they unlock their elytra and stretch out their wings. Flying can only be sustained for short periods of time, but is still an extraordinary ability nevertheless.

GWAs you guys know from my last video, yesterday we found a HARLEQUIN BEETLE!!! Acrocinus longimanus. It is one of my favorite insects of all time, that I have wanted to see forever. But the harlequin beetle came with a surprise: hiding under its elytra were many pseudoscorpions! They are sometimes phoretic, aka neutral relationship, and sometimes symbiotic. This may actually be a symbiotic relationship here, because large Cerambycids often have mites on them, so the pseudoscorps will live on them and eat off their parasites. What do you think?
