GEBuilding in e-commerce looks nothing like building a service business. I’ve done this once before, but never to the scale I’m about to.
Finding the right supplier alone took weeks of vetting manufacturers, cross-referencing reviews, sampling materials, and figuring out who could even deliver to the standard I wanted.
Then came the product designer, the brand vision, and building community in a way that feels way earlier than necessary (but it absolutely is).
We kicked off our product sample last month. It’s almost certainly not going to be perfect first time, but that’s just part of the process ♻️
I’m sharing this because I see a version of e-commerce that gets shown online that skips all of this part. The bit before launch, before the revenue, and before any of it looks like anything at all.
With that being said, if you’re building in the e-commerce space/starting from 0, here’s the exact playbook I’m following to build my own.
