REToday we have a pretty common case here: an acute-angled intersection with inconvenient pedestrian crossings, chaotic number of lanes and just a massive slab of asphalt. In addition, the traffic lights here are broken for years.
In such cases, we have 3 options:
1) make a simple roundabout (but here we have to close one exit, because there is no room for a such roundabout);
2) peanut roundabout - looks pretty exotic, but it’s common in North Europe. Too complicated for a little Serbian town;
3) just to make the right angle. We loose only through west-east traffic, but here is not a big deal.
In total: less asphalt; more safety, greenery, and convenience for all actors (including drivers - now they have simple and clear way).
