DAI made multiple attempts to see an artist I deeply admire, @orvillepeck — and kept walking away disappointed.
Most of it was just bad luck.
But one part of the experience actually gave me information I could use.
As a scientist, I try to ask after any bad outcome:
Is there something here I should change… or is this just randomness?
This time, there was a real lesson.
And there’s something quietly poetic about learning about masks from a performer who always wears one.
Not every disappointment teaches us something — but when one does, I try to listen.
