In this episode of #ITALK , we are excited to shine a spotlight on Rana Albatrawi as part of the “المرأة العربية والفن التشكيلي” initiative by El Beit and Nisf Eldunia magazine, within the second edition of the “Empower Her Art Forum.”
This initiative celebrates the stories of outstanding Arab female artists, emphasizing their creativity and recognizing their significant contributions to society.
Rana received her Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from Al-Aqsa University in Gaza in 2007, and she has since created an extraordinary body of work, which includes flat sculptures and statues.
Since then Rana has committed to giving art to women and children, having held numerous sculpture workshops with the Palestinian Cultural Fund and the Abdul Mohsin Qattan Foundation.
She also took part in other art exhibitions and seminars, and in 2023, she was chosen as a member of the jury for the Ismail Shammout Award for Fine Arts at Dar Al-Kalima University in Bethlehem, Palestine.
The NMEC Museum hosted the “Empower Her Art Forum” from May 19 to 22, 2024, when the tales and accomplishments of renowned Arab female artists were discussed. In collaboration with the community partner “SANAD for women”.
