JEE mains require some sacrifices to be made, especially if you want to score 99+%ile and get into your dream IIT. 1. Friends- talking to your friends too much or asking them about their preparation can be demotivating. Focus on your own goals. 2. Leisure time- relaxation and hobbies will have to take a backseat now. 3. Social life- wedding functions, birthdays, parties will have to be sacrificed. Your priority is to get a good percentile, remember. 4. Comfort zone- Ask your doubts, don't be shy in the class, seek help from teachers, step out of the comfort zone and solve more problems. 5. Immediate gratification - you are used to seeing 80-90 marks but now that might not happen. But be consistent, you will get there. Follow for more. . . . I started my JEE Prep in class 10th - so yes I completed the entire thing slowly and steadily in 3 years - but what if I have to do it all over again but this time in 2 years?👩‍🏫 1. Mindset 💯 Prepare yourself to show up everyday. Even when it feels hard, especially when it feels hard because that is what will set you apart. You have to keep going - you will definitely see the results in the end 2. Regular vs Dummy Schooling🏫 Regular schools help in overall development but Dummy schooling might help you focus better on JEE prep. But no matter what you decide, it is important to manage your time well and understand every line of every class you attend. 3. Online vs Offline Coaching💻 Online saves commute time and offline helps you stay disciplined. But either way, do not make any decision before taking trial classes. Pick a batch where all the teachers are able to teach YOU very well. 4. Notes📝 Concise notes of every class, every chapter which also has all the great questions you have practiced, is a must. You might underestimate it in the beginning but will truly understand its value during endless revisions at the end. 5. Revisions📖 Regularly revising the topics after every class, before every test is what makes sure that you not only remember everything till your actual exam, but also are able to apply it all. 6. Books📚 Do not keep buying books just because one person on the Internet or one person in your class, recommended it. Only refer to a book if your teacher recommended it directly to you. 7. Learn from my Mistake!🧪 I would not have been able to crack it in two years because I did not give equal attention to all three subjects. Just because you enjoy one subject more than the others does not mean, you will not work on the other subjects. Remember, you need all three subjects to actually get a good rank in JEE.

If you had only 6 months for JEE… random studying won’t save you. Most students fail not because they lack time — but because they lack a system. They: watch lectures without revision jump between resources give tests without fixing mistakes That’s why progress stays slow. What actually works is structured execution. Here’s the logic behind the 1.5–1–4–2 method: 1.5 → For every 1 hour of class, spend 1.5 hours solving + revising This shifts you from passive learning to real application 1 → One resource per subject Less confusion, more depth (High-quality PYQs like Oswaal help you focus on actual exam patterns) 4 → Minimum 4 repetitions of modules + PYQs Repetition builds speed, accuracy, and pattern recognition 2 → One mock every 2 days (after syllabus coverage) This builds exam temperament, decision-making, and consistency Learning science backs this: spaced repetition + active recall + testing effect = maximum retention and performance This is how you go from: average → dangerous Not by studying more… but by studying with a system. In the last 5 years, I have personally guided more than 300 students for JEE Advanced, but I myself couldn’t crack it in my first attempt. I studied 14 hours a day, but still failed — here’s what I did wrong: 1) Solved low-quality questions instead of focusing on the right ones 2) Didn’t have a proper strategy and gave too much time to JEE Mains 3) After the April attempt, I kept covering new topics instead of practicing 4) Didn’t have the right guidance — someone who could give clear, actionable steps instead of generic advice That’s why I created a WhatsApp group where I answer 90% of doubts and guide students personally.👇 👉Comment “Group” or DM me “group” and I’ll send you the link.👈 Note❌ this group is only for students who are giving jee advanced in may this year
