💬 Comment “DEADLINE” and I’ll send you a one-page cheat sheet with 10 recruiter-approved answer templates. Here’s how to answer “How do you handle tight deadlines?” without sounding like everyone else: ✅ Prioritize fast “I break the work into urgency levels, tackle the highest-impact pieces first, and align expectations early.” ✅ Work with structure “I use a quick action plan, clarify responsibilities, and execute in focused blocks so speed never kills accuracy.” ✅ Calm beats chaos “I remove distractions, stay organised, and make decisions based on impact, not panic.” ✅ Communicate like a pro “I flag risks early, keep people updated, and avoid last-minute surprises.” ✅ Team alignment “I divide work clearly and keep everyone synced so we hit the deadline together.” This is the kind of answer that makes interviewers think: “Okay, this person actually knows how to deliver under pressure.” 📌 Save this if you’ve got interviews coming up 👥 Share with someone who is jobhunting right now. #careertips #jobinterviewtips #jobsearchadvice #usjobmarket #interviewprep #careeradvice #resumehelp #applicationtips #jobhunting2025 #careergrowth #ToniExplains

Waiting to hear back from a job interview? Here’s my advice for next time: When the interview ends: ✅Ask interviewer when you can expect to hear back about next steps ✅Obtain/confirm their email so you can send a thank you note ⏰ 12-24 hours later ➡️ send a follow-up thank you email 🗓️and if they’re still silent after the deadline, send a check in email reiterating interest. Recruiter: “You’ve got the job. When can you start?” This is where a lot of jobseekers accidentally fumble the offer. ❌ “ASAP” can sound rushed or desperate ❌ Over-explaining can weaken your position ✅ The goal is confident, professional, and strategic Say this instead, based on YOUR situation ⬇️ ✨ If you currently have a job: “I want to be respectful of my current role and ensure a smooth transition. I’d be available to start within two to three weeks.” ✨ If you’re ready to start ASAP but need to play it cool: “I’m very excited about this opportunity and can be flexible. I’d be happy to align with your preferred start date.” ✨ If you already have a prior obligation planned: “I’m very interested in the role. I do have a prior commitment already scheduled, so I’d be available to start on [date], and fully committed from day one.” These responses protect your professionalism, confidence, and leverage, especially in competitive federal and civilian hiring environments. I’m LaTasha, helping jobseekers land roles in both the federal and civilian sectors, from interview strategy to offer acceptance and beyond. I’m a recruiter and I interview for a living. Most people overthink interview prep, but if you only have 60 minutes, here is exactly how to spend them. ⏲️ (comment “jobs” and I’ll share the guide) Stop “studying” and start strategizing. You don’t need to memorize the company’s entire history; you need to prove you can do the job. ➡️ Here is my 60-Minute Emergency Prep Guide: 1️⃣ 0–15 Mins: The “Pain Point” Deep Dive Don’t just read the job description—dissect it. • Identify the top 3 skills they keep mentioning. • Ask yourself: “What problem is this company trying to solve by hiring for this role?” • Goal: Align your value with their specific “pain.” 2️⃣ 15–35 Mins: The “Rule of Three” Stories Forget 20 different scenarios. Pick 3 versatile stories (STAR method) that demonstrate leadership, problem-solving, and technical skill. • Story 1: A time you saved the day. • Story 2: A time you handled a conflict or failure. • Story 3: A major project you’re proud of. • Pro Tip: These three stories can answer 90% of behavioral questions if you pivot them correctly. 3️⃣ 35–50 Mins: The “Vibe Check” Research Go to LinkedIn. Look up your interviewers. • Where did they work before? • Do you have mutual connections or interests? • Check the “Recent Posts” section of the company page. Mentioning a post from 48 hours ago makes you look incredibly dialed-in. 4️⃣ 50–60 Mins: The Reverse Interview The interview isn’t over until you ask questions. Prepare two that make you sound like a leader: 1. “What does ‘success’ look like for this role in the first 90 days?” 2. “How does the team handle [specific industry challenge]?” The Closer: Interviews aren’t about being perfect; they’re about being prepared. You’ve got this! Follow @nitsrecruits for no BS interview, resume, job search advice. Every interviewer will ask you this question so it’s important to get it right. 👉 “Why are you leaving your current job?” Most people lead with emotion. 🚫 “I’m burned out.” 🚫 “There’s no growth.” 🚫 “My boss is toxic.” Even if it’s true, that answer doesn’t position you as someone who’s intentional. Here’s a stronger formula: 1️⃣ Start with what you’ve learned or accomplished. 2️⃣ Shift the focus to what excites you about this new role. 3️⃣ Anchor it directly to the job description — pick 2–3 things that genuinely interest you. 4️⃣ End with why that aligns with where you want to grow. Example: “I’ve learned a lot in my current role, but I’m excited to step into something with more focus on [X, Y, Z from the job description], and that’s exactly what drew me to this opportunity.” Stop talking about what you’re leaving and start talking about what you’re building toward. That’s how you sound strategic — not emotional. 👇 Comment “LEADER” and I’ll send you the exact interview questions I use to assess $200K+ talent. 👏Good for you for applying for a role where you don’t have all the required experience—-because you don’t need to . What you do need is a solid answer to address any concerns about the skills you don’t have. 💾 Save for when you apply for a role where you lack some experience
🌸 I’m Lorraine Hubbard — former Head of HR & Global Talent turned certified career coach. I give ambitious people the tools and straight talk to grow fast. Hit Follow if that’s you. ❓Why should they hire you with your obvious skill gaps? ⚠️This is a strong answer because it highlights soft skills that companies value. BUT IT HAS TO SOUND LIKE YOU . Don’t memorize the script. Focus on the 3 skills—what they mean and how you would apply them. 🚀Example script “Lacking experience would not be a new situation for me. In fact, in my current (or past) role, I’ve had to learn new skills. (Briefly share an example.) The key for me are three skills that have served me well: curiosity, adaptability, and resilience. I’ve always been naturally curious. If I don’t know something, I dive into research—looking for what I can read, who I should speak with and what training is available. My adaptability helps me close gaps quickly. I adjust easily to new environments, people, technologies, and responsibilities, giving me more time to explore and learn. Lastly, learning anything new can be challenging, but my resilience keeps me going. I stay determined, learn from my mistakes, and make adjustments as needed. I’m confident these qualities will allow me to quickly contribute to the team and excel in all aspects of the role.” Use these 3 skills in your answer but make the story your own. Good luck! 👍Bonus —There are at least 6 interview questions that you just shouldn’t get wrong, Comment “Guide” and I’ll send you tips and scripts to help you nail all 6. #Career #Careercoach #careergrowth #workingwoman #careercounselor #careerdevelopment #careertips #careercoaching #careerplanning #work #interviewtips #jobinterviews #jobinterviewtips #jobs #jobsearch #jobseekers #careermove #interviewquestions #jobseekers #jobsearchtips #jobadvice #needajob #levelup #interviewprep #hiring
