يبلغ ارتفاع برج خليفة 828 مترًا، متوجا نفسه أطول مبنى شيد على وجه الأرض. يضم 163 طابقًا فوق سطح الأرض تتوزع فيها مساحات سكنية فاخرة، ومكاتب راقية، وفندق أرماني الذي يحمل توقيع المصمم العالمي جورجيو أرماني في تجربة تجمع بين الفخامة والبساطة الراقية.
بدأت قصة البرج عام 2004، حين انطلقت أعمال البناء بقيادة فريق عالمي من المهندسين والمصممين، أبرزهم المعماري أدريان سميث من شركة SOM. وبعد ست سنوات من العمل المتواصل، افتتح البرج رسميًا في الرابع من يناير عام 2010، ليحمل اسم «برج خليفة» تكريما للشيخ خليفة بن زاید آل نهیان.
