I’ve read “The Kite Runner” years ago, but I still get emotional whenever I think about it. 🥺 Khaled Hosseini really has a way of touching everyone’s heart. If only I could sell my soul to read this for the first time. 😭💗
Amir’s character development throughout the book was quiet impressive. Hassan is my favorite character because i beleive he has ideal qualities. His struggles in the story really moved me.
The phrase “For you, a thousand times over,” said by Hassan to Amir shows the love he had for
him. The book also has surprising secrets about Baba’s past which makes it an interesting read for those who love plot twists.
I recommend this book to EVERYONE! (even those who dont like reading) 😶
Its is a great book for anyone interested in exploring complex themes and learn about Afghan culture and history.

A.Khaled Hosseini’s The Kite Runner would not exist without this one event!
You probably are a fan of Khaled Hosseini’s The Kite Runner… but without this one event, you would never even have known this story existed. watch till the end!
Back in 1999, Hosseini was in the US, working as a doctor, when he heard that the Taliban had banned kite flying in Afghanistan.
That one headline dragged him straight back to his childhood in Kabul—with skies full of kites and noisy tournaments.
So he sat down and wrote a 25-page short story about two boys in Kabul flying kites. He sent it to magazines like Esquire and The New Yorker… and got nothing but rejections. The story ended up in a box in his garage.
But then, in March 2001. He pulled it out, and started expanding it. he would write before his hospital shifts from 4 to 7. And as he wrote, the book grew darker.
His editor then helped tighten the final act, and on May 29, 2003, The Kite Runner was released with a small 50,000-copy hardback run.
At first, it sold slowly… but after 9/11, global curiosity about Afghanistan exploded, and this quiet debut suddenly turned into a New York Times bestseller for more than two years.
From there, Hosseini left medicine, wrote A Thousand Splendid Suns and And the Mountains Echoed, and became one of the most widely read storytellers of his generation.

Went into this book blind and must say its been a hard read. Not cause of bad writing or whatever but because of the things that these 2 boys have already had to go through. Chapter 7s ending was definitely a very hard read
