I knit 19 projects in 2025 and this is my very honest take on which ones were actually worth the time, yarn, and effort. Disclaimer: all of these patterns are great! If it’s a thumbs down it’s because of the way I knit it (gauge) or the yarn I chose. A few didn’t make it into this reel: – 3 hats I gifted – 1 sweater I couldn’t find (and didn’t love 🙃) – 2 mohair tops that turned out too itchy Everything shown here includes the pattern + designer on screen. This is a detailed and complex technique - please like the video if it helps you and support my work. I truly appreciate it❤️ The double-knit neckline setup is used to create a clean, structured, and professional-looking neckline edge. Method: 1. Take two pairs of circular needles of the same size with a long cable. 2. Begin picking up sts along the neckline edge from the selvedge sts as follows: Pick up 1 st with the working yarn held UNDER the cable of the 2nd needle, Pick up the next st with the working yarn held OVER the cable. Alternate these two methods of picking up sts to the end of the neckline. A second row of stitches is formed on the far needle cable at the same time. The number of sts on both needles must be identical. For example: 100 sts on the front needle and 100 sts on the back needle. 3. Turn the work to the wrong side and knit all sts across. Note that the sts will be mounted alternately with different orientations on the needle. Always knit through the right leg of the st so the sts are not twisted. 4. Turn the work to the right side and knit all sts again. 5. Repeat this sequence four more times, alternating sides: WS, RS, WS, RS (a total of 6 rows worked after picking up sts). 6. Final row: Take a new circular needle with a long cable. Transfer one stitch from the far needle onto the near needle and purl these two sts together. Repeat this process across the entire row until all sts are joined. After completing this step, the neckline edge is fully prepared and ready for knitting the collar or ribbing. #knitting #tricot #knittingtips #knittersofinstagram #knit
