SHIโve been using a Kindle forever and I was lucky enough to win a Kobo from @libbyapp_anz! Iโve been using both devices for a couple weeks, here are my thoughts. ๐ญ

Regardless of space available on the model, the Kindle after setup only has 1.79GB taken, whereas the Kobo uses 3.54GB just to set up.ย

Kobo plays audiobook using Bluetooth and Kindle doesnโt. Iโm not a big AB reader but when I do it chews through my phone battery so this could be a big pro for some people.ย

THIS has been the main reason Iโve been considering switching to Kobo. In Australia we canโt access Libby with a Kindle and I hate reading ebooks on a phone screen. note: if you have several library cards, you can only log in with one at a time so you need to switch between them.

Ghosting and lag is expected and both models have moments where it might take a second to turn a page. I found the Kobo regularly doesnโt respond to a page turn - so you try again and it turns 2 pages. This happens 2-3 times for every hour that I read.
๐ ACCESSIBILITY ๐
Both models have great options for screen brightness, font and text size. I do find changing these settings is quicker on the Kindle but not enough to sway me one way or the other.ย

This is easy. @netgalley is designed with Kindles in mind and 99% of the time you can send it to your device with one click. To send NG books to a Kobo, you need a computer to download a program and plug your Kobo in to copy the file over. If anyone would like me to show this process I can.ย

I charged my Kobo once 2+ weeks ago and itโs 75% full. I donโt use it as much as my Kindle but still daily. My Kindle needs a charge every week with daily use. Both charge in an hour.
My conclusion is I actually think the @kobobooks Libra would be the *perfect* ereader for me!! Iโm just scared to invest and regret it. ๐ฐ๐ตโ๐ซ
