SAOkay so nothing was actually “wrong”.
I had a good milk supply.
I wasn’t sick.
I wasn’t even fully done mentally.
But a few things started adding up…
One big thing I noticed —
she started rejecting food.
A lot of times she just wouldn’t eat properly
because she knew breastmilk is always there.
Especially when we were travelling or going out…
she would just take one or two bites
and then completely rely on breastfeeding.
I remember when we went to Coimbatore…
for 3 days straight, she barely ate anything.
Just a few bites here and there.
That’s when it really hit me…
maybe it’s time.
Second thing — her sleep association.
She could not sleep without breastfeeding.
Like at all.
And that meant…
I was waking up 7–8 times every night, sometimes even more, just to feed.
Yes, I was feeding lying down…
but it still takes a toll on your body.
I started feeling constantly exhausted…
and sometimes even a little dizzy when I got up.
And that made me pause…
like maybe my body also needs a break now.
And then I just felt it —
she’s ready.
And honestly… I was also planning to get back to work.
So I thought… maybe this is the right time to slowly close this chapter.
18 months of breastfeeding…
no formula, no bottles, nothing —
just direct breastfeeding.
And choosing to stop…
was not easy, but it felt right 🤍
