THWOW! They Survived?! What an incredible revelation from the ‘Missing Princes’ Project…😱👇
On Thursday, news was released from the first phase of the ‘Missing Princes Project’. It was announced that firm evidence had been found that solved that a whodunnit mystery which has lingered for around 500 years.
For generations, there has been great speculation about the fate of the two sons of Edward IV, ‘Edward, Prince of Wales’ and ‘Richard, Duke of York’, last seen playing together in the Tower in June 1483.
After that, the pair went missing, and many believed - even at the time - that they had been murdered. The question was, by whom?
To add fuel to the fire, the skeletons of two bodies were found buried under a staircase in the Tower in the 1600s. Those remains have never been DNA tested but were thought to be the two young Princes who disappeared aged 12 and 9.
Philippa Langley, responsible for finding the body of Richard III, now brings us more explosive revelations based on extensive research of European archives, with the project claims, evidence that has come to light proving that the two Princes survived and led the two later rebellions against Henry VII: rebellions that we know of as the Lambert Simnel and Perkin Warbeck rebellions.
I have listened to the ‘Gone Medieval’ podcast twice and have started the audiobook (released today). I am intrigued and can only applaud the passion and commitment of all involved.
Do I think the mystery is solved? Well, I haven’t heard all the evidence yet and let’s face it, the Ricard III Society do have an agenda…
If we take what has been found at face value, it is hard to argue against it. However, I do still have questions…not least, who were the boys found under the steps and buried in the monument you see in the reel, which is in Westminster Abbey? I’d certainly like to see them DNA tested…
