THLash mapping for hooded eyes can be a challenge! It’s all about enhancing the eye shape without overwhelming it and creating a flattering, lifted look that opens up the eyes beautifully.
📌For this look, we went with a cat eye mapping using YY lashes to give our model that perfect mix of length and volume along the outer corners.
One thing we keep in mind with hooded eyes is balancing the lash length to avoid any “heavy” look. That’s why YY lashes work so well—they add fullness without too much weight, especially in the outer corners, where hooded eyes can benefit from that extra lift!
Hooded eyes require a different level of technique, but with the right mapping, we can achieve stunning results.

JAHow to improve your Lashing Time:
1. Don’t babysit the lash: Once you placed the lash extension move in to the next lash. Do not stay on the same lash waiting for it to dry
2. Put the lash rows on the back of your hand: instead of putting the lashes on a lash pillow or lash tray, put it on the back of your hand. This cuts down the time it takes you to reach from your client’s eye to the pillow/lash tray. It may seem like just seconds but it adds up.
3. Lash one eye at a time: when you lash one eye at a time you can equate 30 min per eye and time yourself per eye. This way you know when you should be finishing up per eye.
4. Practice on real people: it’s great practicing on a mannequin but they don’t have the same amount of lashes/lash curl as a human. When you real people’s lashes you are faced with real challenges and more experiences
5. Get a one second dry time lash adhesive: Once you’ve perfected your placement get a one second dry time lash adhesive. This one is pretty self explanatory. A one second dry time will help you to move faster and avoid stickies!
6. My Secret: (for ADVANCED LT’s) if you don’t have a one sec lash adhesive. Apply bonder on the base of the lash extension strip AND apply bonder to your client’s natural lashes. This will help you breeze through sets.

If your sets don’t look clean and you are blaming it on your clients challenging natural lashes, I hate to say it but it’s YOU! Not your client. There is definitely room for improvement with your technique.
Here’s the thing 👇
1. 👉 Yes, challenging natural lashes make our job DIFFICULT! But any lash line can look clean, you just have to focus on direction- this may mean you only connect .5mm of the extension to the natural lash but I swear to you, if properly placed, it WILL last great! 👍
2. Notice in this video how we let go of the lash once it looked properly directed but as soon as we let go, it shifted and bounced out of place- this happens often and we must instantly shift it back into place before the glue cures. When doing this, hold position until you see that the glue begins to turn from shiny to matte- this is a sign the glue is dried enough to stay in place.
3. Sometimes, in order to get a clean looking set, you are required to place some extensions on the top of the natural lash, some on the side and some beneath.. there is no rule of thumb here, you just have to envision how you want the lash to sit and figure out which placement will help achieve this best while creating the most points of contact you can between the natural lash and extension.

**Where the centre of a person’s pupil sits is drastically different sitting up vs lying down!
It’s really important that when you’re mapping out your clients, you have them sitting up and looking straight ahead. As you can see, the centre of her pupil is drastically different sitting up than it is when she’s lying down! Looking down at her lid, you’d think her pupil would be more to the right. I’ve made the mistake of mapping with the client lying down aiming for an open-eye look, and my set turning out to be more of a cat eye. This step is extremely beneficial for any set and style you’re aiming for. Doing this will balance your sets and guide you in where you want to accentuate your lengths!

✨It involves application on 4 layers of natural lashes. Anime Look applied in this method has a more layered and feathery look.
We will start from the middle of the eye this time. ⤵️
𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽𝟭: Make an anime peak/spike in the middle of the eye:
From the 1st to the 4th layer, using lash spikes in length:
13 — (longest length)
12 12 — (1mm shorter)
11 — (2mm shorter)
11 11 11 — (2mm shorter)
𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝟮: Apply 6 or 8 more long lash spikes evenly to the remaining space on the eye, and make more anime peaks as Step 1.
💡 Lengths of the other anime peaks are based on the customer’s eye shape.
💡 Use lash coating for a more spiky look.
𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝟯: Fill in the gaps with 4mm shorter lashes (based on length of the longest lash spike).
