The Great Sphinx, carved over 4,500 years ago, likely represents Pharaoh Khafre and guards the Giza Plateau with the body of a lion and the face of a king. 🦁
Between its paws stands the Dream Stele, placed there centuries later by Pharaoh Thutmose IV (ca. 1400 BCE). According to the inscription, while still a young prince, he fell asleep in the shadow of the sand-covered Sphinx. In a dream, the Sphinx—seen as the god Harmakhis—spoke to him and promised he would become king if he cleared the sand away. 👑
This stele became a powerful tool of political legitimacy and is one of the oldest surviving records showing how sacred and mysterious the Sphinx was, even in ancient times. ✨

La Gran Esfinge, tallada hace más de 4500 años, probablemente representa al faraón Kefrén, con cuerpo de león y rostro humano, como símbolo de poder y protección. 🦁
Entre sus patas se encuentra la Estela del Sueño, colocada siglos después por Tutmosis IV (ca. 1400 a.C.). La inscripción cuenta que, siendo aún príncipe, se quedó dormido junto a la Esfinge, casi enterrada por la arena. En sueños, la Esfinge—identificada con el dios Harmakis—le prometió que sería faraón si la liberaba. 👑
Esta estela no solo legitimó su reinado, sino que muestra cómo ya en ese tiempo la Esfinge era venerada como un monumento sagrado y enigmático. ✨
