LI💙 Dopo un lungo percorso, Benedetta è finalmente uscita dall’ospedale.
Dalla Sicilia si è dovuta trasferire in Francia, perché le terapie tradizionali non erano più sufficienti a contrastare il danno polmonare causato dalla fibrosi cistica, la malattia di cui è affetta.
Oggi, nella sua casa di Nantes, Benedetta ha ripreso a respirare grazie al trapianto di doppio polmone che le ha donato una nuova vita.
“Prima vivevo di paure, ora guardo al futuro con speranza. Il mio sogno è quello di diventare mamma.”
Il percorso non è finito: Benedetta dovrà restare in Francia per due anni, seguita dai medici che la accompagnano in questo cammino di rinascita.
Noi continueremo a esserle accanto grazie al progetto Case LIFC, per garantirle la serenità di cui ha bisogno per affrontare questo viaggio.

INHonouring our fallen through sport 🏉
The Intelligence Corps held the Annual Inter-Unit Rugby Sevens competition, The Sharron Elliott Trophy, on Fri 2 May 25.
The competition saw 1MI, 2MI, 4MI, 6MI, LIFC, DHU and the OPTI clash in a full day of fierce fixtures, dominant tackles, and Corps-wide pride - all in honour of SSgt Sharron Elliott who was killed whilst serving in Iraq on 12 November 2006.
This tournament was deemed a great success and saw members from all over the Intelligence Corps come together and enjoy a day of high intensity sport. 🏉
Big thanks to all the friends and family who came out to support - For the first time in two years the weather was perfect which allowed for flowing rugby, great vibes and excellent food! 💚💪
In the finals, 1MI Bn fought hard to overcome a talented 2MI team to secure the Sharron Elliott Plate.
Massive congratulations to team OPTI, who walked away Sharron Elliott Trophy champions after beating DHU with a ‘golden try’ in extra time! 🏆💪

FI🎥 Doni(amo) il futuro
Oggi 11 Aprile 2025, In occasione della Giornata Nazionale per la Donazione di Organi, vogliamo condividere un momento speciale organizzato da LIFC Toscana: l’evento di sensibilizzazione “Doni(amo) il futuro”, dedicato al legame tra fibrosi cistica e donazione di organi.
📍 Siamo stati ospitati dall’Istituto di Istruzione Secondaria Dagomari di Prato, dove abbiamo avuto il piacere di incontrare le classi quarte e quinte per riflettere insieme su un tema che può letteralmente salvare vite: la donazione di organi.
👩⚕️👨⚕️La Dott.ssa Bresci e Prof. Luzzi ci hanno guidato in un approfondimento medico sulla fibrosi cistica e sul percorso che può portare al trapianto.
👩💼🧑💼Due pazienti FC (Yuri e Virginia) hanno poi dato voce all’esperienza vissuta in prima persona:
🔹 la quotidianità e l’attesa del trapianto
🔹 la fortuna del ricevere il trapianto e la rinascita che ne può seguire.
🫁La fibrosi cistica e la donazione di organi sono profondamente intrecciate: per molti pazienti, il trapianto di polmoni non è solo una possibilità futura, ma spesso l’unica speranza per continuare a vivere.
💙Donare gli organi è un gesto silenzioso e potentissimo. È trasformare il dolore in vita e permettere a qualcuno di continuare a respirare, a sognare, a vivere davvero.
“Donare è, in fondo, un modo per ingannare la morte: una persona che se ne va può regalare la vita a chi la sta perdendo”.
💭 La donazione è un atto di coraggio, di amore e di responsabilità collettiva.
